Frequently Asked Questions

Where can my child participate in Soccer Shots?

Soccer Shots Baltimore is held at childcare centers, preschools and schools, as well as public locations. Our public programs are open to the general public while our childcare center and school programs are only open to those enrolled at the location.

What type of equipment will my child need to participate?

Soccer Shots Baltimore provides all of the equipment needed at each of our sessions. Your child should wear activity-appropriate clothing. Cleats and shin guards are NOT necessary.

How do I know the locations of the public programs?

To find public programs in your area, select View Locations at the top of this page.

Can I have Soccer Shots start a public program near me?

Yes! We are always willing to start a public program near you. The easiest way for this to happen is for you to form a group of eight children willing to take part in a Soccer Shots season. These could be children from your neighborhood, friends from church or synagogue, or your parent groups. We’re happy to help talk through ideas on how to make this happen. Please contact your local director for more information.

What can I expect from a Soccer Shots session?

Our weekly 30-45 minute sessions focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. Through fun games and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork and appreciation.

How do I know if a session is cancelled due to inclement weather?

Soccer Shots Baltimore will make every effort to determine the status of a session no later than 1.5 hours before the scheduled start time of the session, based on available hourly weather forecasts and field closures beyond our control. We will cancel sessions due to adverse weather conditions with short notice or while a session is in progress if the safety of the children is in question. Soccer Shots DMV uses Child Care Weather Watch for guidance on adverse weather conditions. If we do cancel a session, we will notify you via email and text and also post all weather updates on our Facebook page as they occur (@SoccerShotsBaltimore).

What should I do if my child has not received a Soccer Shots jersey yet?

Please reach out to our jersey team at [email protected]. Our Soccer Shots jerseys are included in the enrollment fee which is charged once per school year and covers fall through summer. Jerseys are mailed once per school year from our central office to the address you provide us.

What is the enrollment fee and how often do I pay it?

The enrollment fee is charged once per school year (fall through summer) and is non-refundable. This enrollment fee covers costs to deliver the best children’s soccer experience, such as investing in the recruitment and training of our coaches, curricula development, alignment with state education standards and technology.
