Meet The Coaches

Coach Taylor serves as our Executive Director. She began coaching with Soccer Shots Columbia in 2018, while she played soccer collegiately at Columbia International University. Coach Taylor is a native of the Triad and is excited about positively impacting the community through the game of soccer! In her free time, Coach Taylor enjoys spending time with friends, getting outdoors, and traveling.

Coach Amanda is our Director of Operations and she grew up in Iowa, where she graduated from the University of Iowa with an Elementary Education degree. Prior to joining Soccer Shots in May of 2018, Coach Amanda served as a lead preschool teacher in Denver, CO. She loves working with students, and getting to be a fun and exciting part of their day! When she isn’t coaching soccer, she is outside climbing, hiking, or running!

Coach Ashley is our Development Coordinator. She started with Soccer Shots as our college intern, while she studied at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Coach Ashley has always loved working with kids and is excited to continue doing so through Soccer Shots. When Coach Ashley is not on Soccer Island, she enjoys spending time with her family and experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes!

Coach Abigail has been playing soccer since she can remember. She currently attends UNCG after transferring from Francis Marion University where she played soccer there for 2 years. She is studying to be a Speech and Language Pathologist at UNCG. She has played travel soccer for PTFC over the years and won 4 state championships doing so. She also played basketball in High School. Besides coaching soccer she likes to watch Netflix, hang out with her friends and watch UNC play basketball.

Coach Agustin, or Gus, has been playing soccer since he was 5 years old. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology at UNCG. He has played both varsity soccer and club soccer in high school. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his friends, learning anatomy, and playing soccer! Coach Gus not only looks forward to teaching new soccer skills, but also helping friends learn life skills through this beautiful game!

Coach Alex has been playing soccer since he was little. He currently attends Winston-Salem State University after transferring from Fayetteville State University where he played in the band for 3 years. He is studying Music Education to be a band director. Besides coaching soccer he likes to play video games and hang out with his friends, travel, and watch WSSU Rams Football.

Coach Lex has actively participated in sports, including soccer, since the age of 2 and quickly grew to love them! She also goes by the name Coach Lexi for her Soccer Island friends! She is a graduate from UNCG. Coach Alexus has a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration of Sports Medicine and a minor in American Sign Language. She thoroughly enjoys outdoor activities, working out, and playing with her dog!

Coach Ally is originally from New Jersey and now attends Elon University. She will be graduating this May with a degree in business analytics and economics. Coach Ally has played soccer since she was four years old and plays at the D1 level at Elon. In her free time, she loves being outdoors, whether it is skiing, hiking, or swimming!

Coach Ashlynn has been coaching soccer for a few months and fell in love with the game. She graduated from Greensboro College in 2016 where she received her Bachelors in Exercise and Sports Studies while playing lacrosse. She has spent the past two years as an Exceptional Children teacher at Bessemer Elementary school and will be making the transition to a PE teacher at Summit Creek Academy this fall. She coaches varsity high school girls lacrosse at Northern Guilford and middle school lacrosse with Winston Salem . Besides coaching , she likes to watch Netflix, cooking shows, spend time with her daughter and explore the outdoors.

Coach Bell graduated from UNCG but is looking to go back and pursue a master’s degree in in higher education and student affairs. She loves to encourage and promote health and growth to young people. Coach Bell is so excited to be a part of the Soccer Shots team and help her friends learn about Soccer as well. She looks forward to meeting you all on Soccer Island!

Coach Caleb was born and raised in the Maryland/D.C. area and has been playing soccer since he was 4 years-old. He has played on travel teams as well as varsity soccer teams! In addition to soccer, Coach Caleb enjoys playing basketball, rugby, and football. He is in his third year of college, where he is completing a major in psychology and a minor in cyber security. Coach Caleb is looking forward to seeing all his new friends on Soccer Island!

Coach Caroline has played soccer all her life. Throughout high school she played travel indoor and outdoor soccer. Going into college she played tennis all four years of undergrad for the University of Lynchburg as an Exercise Physiology major and Psychology minor. She is attending Elon University for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Coach Caroline loves working with kids both on the field and as a kid’s camp art instructor! They never cease to surprise and impress her. She looks forward to meeting all her new friends on Soccer Island.

Coach Chance has been playing and loving soccer since he was 5 years old. He currently attends Davidson County Community College, majoring in Early Childhood Education. His plan is to become a teacher after obtaining his degree. Outside of soccer, Coach Chance enjoys playing video games and watching UNC Basketball. Coach Chance can’t wait to be with everyone on Soccer Island!

Coach Chris played many sports growing up including soccer, baseball, basketball, and gymnastics. He also spent a few years working in adventure sports as a white water rafting, rock climbing, and zip-lining guide! Coach Chris was born and raised in Winston-Salem, but started working for Soccer Shots in Chattanooga, Tennessee before transferring back home. Coach Chris has a passion for fitness, writing, and coaching. He looks forward to meeting his new soccer friends this season and for years to come!

Coach Hannah has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old. She has always been in love with the sport. Coach Hannah had plans to play college Soccer, but was injured and was unable to play. Instead, she is now passing along her love for the sport by teaching and coaching her Soccer Shots friends! Coach Hannah spends her free time hanging out with her family and friends and going to the gym. She looks forward to seeing her friends on Soccer Island!

Coach Holly loves soccer and has played soccer for most of her life! She started playing at the age of four, and played all the way through her freshman year of college. She played travel soccer for PTFC and was a member of a four-time state championship team. Holly is currently studying Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. When Holly is not coaching, she is dreaming about Disney or listening to her favorite music. Holly is excited to make new friends who love to play soccer, and share her knowledge of the game to her new soccer friends!

Coach Jake has always loved soccer! He has been playing year-round since he was 4 years-old. Coach Jake will be attending Elon University next year, where he plans to continue playing Soccer at the collegiate level! In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and doing physical activity. Coach Jake is excited to see all his soccer friends on Soccer Island!

Coach JJ has been helping young players learn the game since he was 10 years old. He began by helping his father coach, and then became a player himself and played on several teams across NC.  Coach JJ enjoys sharing his passing for Soccer with our Soccer Friends.  He also loves rugby, traveling, and speaks 3 languages- Spanish, Serbian, and German. 

Coach Kailey grew up in Parkersburg, WV and has been playing soccer since she was 3 years old! She played competitively on multiple travel teams and was captain of her varsity soccer team in high school. She recently graduated from High Point University with a B.S. in Exercise Science with a Concentration in Health and Wellness and a B.A. in Biology. She now attends UNCG and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Public Health. She loves being outdoors, travelling, and looks forward to meeting all of her new friends!

Coach Mae is a senior at Caldwell Academy. She grew up playing soccer and can’t wait to continue expressing her love for sports through coaching! Coach Mae is very outgoing and loves to work with kids. She looks forward to meeting all her friends on Soccer Island!

Coach Mariah is new to soccer but is not new to coaching or sports. She played Collegiate Volleyball at St. Andrews University and has been coaching volleyball since high school. She also has experience in Martial Arts, both competing and teaching. She is excited to learn more about soccer, and bring her mind, body, and soul philosophy to life. Coach Mariah can’t wait to meet all her new friends on Soccer Island!

Coach Matt did not pick up the game of soccer until he was in 8th grade, when he was called upon to play goalkeeper for a club team! From there, he immediately grew to love the game and appreciate all it has to offer. Now a student at Elon University, Coach Matt has experience coaching youth sports, including lacrosse and basketball! He is thrilled to become a Soccer Shots coach because he enjoys working with kids and wants to help them grow, as well as improve his own coaching skills. Coach Matt is thrilled to be a leader on Soccer Island and can’t wait to start practicing with all his soccer friends!

Coach McKenzie played college soccer at Columbia International University, where she recently graduated with her Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. She first started her coaching career with Soccer Shots Columbia and is excited to continue teaching the game that she loves. Coach McKenzie also coaches for a local high school varsity team! When she isn’t coaching, she loves enjoying a nice cup of coffee, spending time with friends, and adventuring outdoors!

Coach Megan is in her last semester at Western Piedmont Community College. She is earning her degree in applied science with a focus on paralegal technology and is excited to start her career after graduating in May! Coach Megan grew up in Western North Carolina and played for the Highland Football Club for six years. She also played rugby while she attended UNCG. Coach Megan is a new mom and is so excited to meet all her soccer friends! She can’t wait to have soccer-filled weekends once again!

Coach Micah has been playing soccer since he was 6 years old. He is attending Forsyth tech right now and is planning on transferring to Appalachian state after 2 years to get his bachelor’s degree in history and minor in education. Coach Micah wants to teach high school history. He has led multiple classes at soccer camps as well as taught multiple preschool classes. He is constantly volunteering at church and at food pantries whenever he has free time. He loves to have fun and spend time with other people whenever he has the opportunity.

Coach O has played soccer at the middle and high school level. He has enjoyed playing soccer, along with many other sports growing up! Coach O has a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Coaching and plans to become an Athletic Director someday. He enjoys coaching all sports and looks forward to sharing new skills with all his soccer friends!

Coach Passion started playing soccer at the age of 7 and has loved it ever since! She’s excited for her first season with Soccer Shots! In her free time, she loves creating music, cooking, and spending time with her pets. She looks forward to meeting all her new friends on Soccer Island!

Coach Tanisha has always had a love for sports! She planned to run college track, but discovered a passion for strength training and personal training that changed her course. She is now passing along her love of sports through coaching all her soccer friends! Coach Tanisha spends her free time personal training and being a mom! She looks forward to seeing her friends on Soccer Island.

Coach Trevor has been playing soccer since he was 8 years old! He is currently attending UNCG, majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in Sports Coaching. Growing up he played a variety of different youth sports, such as baseball, basketball, and football, before falling in love with soccer! During his free time, he also loves hiking, watching movies, and spending time with his friends and family. He can’t wait to be out there on Soccer Island playing with all of his new Soccer Shots friends!

Coach Walker started playing soccer when he was 3-years-old and is planning to continue playing in college! He currently plays soccer at Wesleyan Christian Academy and Piedmont Triad Football Club. Coach Walker enjoys helping the younger generation learn and grow! He spends his free time hanging out with friends and family, as well as watching sports! Coach Walker is looking forward to meeting more new soccer friends this season!

Coach Wynn is a fun loving outgoing coach who has recently started being at Soccer Shots. She is a soccer player herself and loves teaching the sport. In her free time, Coach Wynn mainly plays soccer and hopes to pursue that through college. Coach Wynn also loves to play basketball. She loves being active and staying busy. Coach Wynn has a plan to go into Criminal Psychology after college. She can’t wait to meet all her new friends on Soccer Island!
