Director of Coaching
Coach Katie is our Director of Coaching. Katie has been coaching for Soccer Shots since 2017 and began serving as our Director of Coaching in April 2018. She has not only played soccer since she was 3, but has also coached soccer teams of different ages over the past years. Coach Katie is very excited about teaching the game of soccer to all her Soccer Friends, and training and equipping our awesome Soccer Shots coaches to provide an exceptional Soccer Shots experience for your children!
Director of Operations
Coach Amanda is our Director of Operations and she grew up in Iowa, where she graduated from the University of Iowa with an Elementary Education degree. Prior to joining Soccer Shots in May of 2018, Coach Amanda served as a lead preschool teacher in Denver, CO. She loves working with students, and getting to be a fun and exciting part of their day! When she isn’t coaching soccer, she is outside climbing, hiking, or running!
Coach Abigail has been playing soccer since she can remember. She currently attends UNCG after transferring from Francis Marion University where she played soccer there for 2 years. She is studying to be a Speech and Language Pathologist at UNCG. She has played travel soccer for PTFC over the years and won 4 state championships doing so. She also played basketball in High School. Besides coaching soccer she likes to watch Netflix, hang out with her friends and watch UNC play basketball.
Coach Alex has been playing soccer since he was little. He currently attends Winston-Salem State University after transferring from Fayetteville State University where he played in the band for 3 years. He is studying Music Education to be a band director. Besides coaching soccer he likes to play video games and hang out with his friends, travel, and watch WSSU Rams Football.
Coach Alexus has actively participated in sports, including soccer, since the age of 2 and quickly grew to love them! She also goes my the name Coach Lexi for her Soccer Island friends! She is a graduate from UNCG. Coach Alexus has a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration of Sports Medicine and a minor in American Sign Language. She thoroughly enjoys outdoor activities, working out, and playing with her dog!
Coach Ashlynn has been coaching soccer for a few months and fell in love with the game. She graduated from Greensboro College in 2016 where she received her Bachelors in Exercise and Sports Studies while playing lacrosse. She has spent the past two years as an Exceptional Children teacher at Bessemer Elementary school and will be making the transition to a PE teacher at Summit Creek Academy this fall. She coaches varsity high school girls lacrosse at Northern Guilford and middle school lacrosse with Winston Salem . Besides coaching , she likes to watch Netflix, cooking shows, spend time with her daughter and explore the outdoors.
Coach Brittany is a student at Greensboro College and is on their women’s soccer team. She is a Health Science major with a minor in Biology. Brittany has been playing soccer ever since she was 7 years old. Besides soccer she enjoys playing the guitar, traveling and being outside. She looks forward to passing on her passion for soccer to younger generations.
Coach Caitlin is a student at UNCG. She loves working with kids and has coached soccer and basketball for the YMCA. Before joining Soccer Shots she was a camp counselor at a Camp called Mountain Top. She also enjoys playing kickball and playing golf in her spare time. She loves sports and is looking forward to coaching and instilling good sportsmanship and the love of sports with the children she will meet through Soccer Shots.
Coach Caroline has played soccer all her life. Throughout high school she played travel indoor and outdoor soccer. Going into college she played tennis all four years of undergrad for the University of Lynchburg as an Exercise Physiology major and Psychology minor. She is attending Elon University for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Coach Caroline loves working with kids both on the field and as a kid’s camp art instructor! They never cease to surprise and impress her. She looks forward to meeting all her new friends on Soccer Island.
Coach Christina has been a fan of soccer since she was 8 years old. She played on and off as she grew up, but even when she wasn’t on a field, she enjoyed watching it more than any other sport. Coach Christina has always been a kid at heart and has worked with children in many aspects including daycares, theatre productions, art camps, and she recently finished her first summer with Kaleideum camps. Coach Christina graduated from Appalachian State, where her passion for the Arts grew even more. She also loves all things Fall/Halloween, painting, drawing, reading, and The Haunted Mansion (her favorite ride at DisneyWorld).
Inspired by the recognition received from the Coca Cola Company to the highest performing athletic and academic high school student and motivated by experience gained from being a 2x renal transplant recipient, cardiac arrest patient, and independent researcher, Coach D hopes to transform the way teaching and learning happens, globally. Prior to joining the Soccer Shots team, she worked at the Atlanta Speech school and became aware of Soccer Shots by watching her students enjoy learning all about soccer and being a good person. Now, she looks forward to providing such a high quality experience as “Coach D!”
Coach E Jay
Coach E Jay has been working with Kids/doing youth work for 9 years. Coach E Jay has worked in childcare and has done community work with children in the inner city. He loves playing any sport and he has a big desire to see young people grow in learning and character development and using sports to achieve those things isn’t new to him. He can’t wait to meet all his new friends on Soccer Island!
Coach Emily has played soccer since she was four years old. She has played on many club teams and played for Greensboro College, where she studied Child Psychology. While she is not playing or coaching she likes to go hiking, swimming, and play with her dogs. Coach Emily cannot wait to share her love of soccer with her new friends!
Coach Holly loves soccer and has played soccer for most of her life! She started playing at the age of four, and played all the way through her freshman year of college. She played travel soccer for PTFC and was a member of a four-time state championship team. Holly is currently studying Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. When Holly is not coaching, she is dreaming about Disney or listening to her favorite music. Holly is excited to make new friends who love to play soccer, and share her knowledge of the game to her new soccer friends!
Coach Jade has played soccer for most of her life. She graduated Cum Laude from Piedmont High School in Monroe, NC. She has 7 nieces and nephews from the ages of 2-10 and have a strong love for little ones. Coach Jade moved to the area in the beginning of January 2021. When she’s not coaching with Soccer Shots, she likes to spend time with her boyfriend and her two dogs, playing volleyball with her boyfriend’s daughter, and going to the beach. Coach Jade has a favorite quote she wants to share with all her soccer island friends, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great” – Zig Ziglar
Coach Jenna C
Coach Jenna is a senior at North Davidson High School. She has taken many courses at Davidson-Davie Community College and plans to go to a four year university and get her bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. In her free time she likes to go to parks with friends to play soccer and tennis, read books, and make jewelry! Coach Jenna can’t wait to meet all her new friends on Soccer Island!
Coach Jenna T
Coach Jenna is a first year Athletic Training Masters student at High Point University and originally from Raleigh, NC. She has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old and played competitively up until her senior year in high school where she was the captain of her varsity team. She loves working with kids in all settings, such as at church and on the soccer field. When Coach Jenna is not on Soccer Island, you can expect her to be hanging out with her friends, watching the Carolina Hurricanes, or at the beach on a hot summer day. She looks forward to meeting all her new Soccer Shots friends!
Coach JJ has been helping young players learn the game since he was 10 years old. He began by helping his father coach, and then became a player himself and played on several teams across NC. Coach JJ enjoys sharing his passing for Soccer with our Soccer Friends. He also loves rugby, traveling, and speaks 3 languages- Spanish, Serbian, and German.
Coach Kailey grew up in Parkersburg, WV and has been playing soccer since she was 3 years old! She played competitively on multiple travel teams and was captain of her varsity soccer team in high school. She recently graduated from High Point University with a B.S. in Exercise Science with a Concentration in Health and Wellness and a B.A. in Biology. She now attends UNCG and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Public Health. She loves being outdoors, travelling, and looks forward to meeting all of her new friends!
Coach Katherine is a student at UNCG, where she is studying fashion merchandising with a minor in American Sign Language. Katherine has always had a passion for soccer. Katherine is born and raised in Greensboro, NC. Coach Katherine competed at Worlds at ESPN wide world of sports for soccer twice. In Coach Katherine’s free time when she’s not coaching soccer she is watching soccer, playing with her dogs, and running. Katherine loves to work with children and has had such a love for children since she was young.
Coach Mackenzie is a recent graduate of the University of Lynchburg where she studied exercise physiology with a minor in sports medicine. She grew up in Syracuse, New York and has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old. Coach Mackenzie played indoor and outdoor soccer all the way up until she graduated high school. She also played on the club soccer team at the University of Lynchburg. She loves working with kids and showing them how fun soccer is. In her free time, she likes to go on runs, hike, and spend the day at the pool.
Coach Madi is a recent graduate from Greensboro College where she studied Exercise and Sport Studies with a concentration in Exercise Science. She has played soccer for 15 years and is currently playing soccer at Greensboro College. Besides soccer Coach Madi loves to paint, and play games. She is looking forward to sharing her love of soccer for the game with all her Soccer Friends!
Coach Marena currently attends UNCG after transferring from Cape Fear Community College. She is studying Sociology with a concentration in criminal justice and a minor in entrepreneurship to eventually start her own non-profit
that will support youth populations in underprivileged and minority communities. Coach Marena started playing soccer when she was 3 years old and played travel and high school soccer until she graduated high school. Coach Marena also won 2 state championships throughout her 4 years of playing in high
school. Besides coaching soccer she likes to roller skate, read books, go to the park, hang out with my friends and listen to music.
Coach Micah has been playing soccer since he was 6 years old. He is attending Forsyth tech right now and is planning on transferring to Appalachian state after 2 years to get his bachelor’s degree in history and minor in education. Coach Micah wants to teach high school history. He has led multiple classes at soccer camps as well as taught multiple preschool classes. He is constantly volunteering at church and at food pantries whenever he has free time. He loves to have fun and spend time with other people whenever he has the opportunity.
Coach Arbnor has played soccer for his high school and other weekend leagues for the past 8 years. He’s currently attending GTCC where he’s studying to get an associate’s degree in engineering. When he’s not studying or on the field, he enjoys photography, video games, hiking, and watching Chelsea FC dominate other teams. His passion for the sport shows and he’s excited to share it with his soccer shots friends!
