Coach Herbert moved from California to Las Vegas 12 years ago and loves living here. He started playing soccer at the age of 2; from youth leagues to high school, college, and professional. After an ACL injury at the age of 24, he stopped playing and transitioned into coaching. He has more than 35 years of experience as a soccer coach, running soccer programs for children, youth and adults. Coach Herbert has coaching certificates from United States Soccer Federation, Ajax FC, and Real Madrid C.F. He loves working with children because he can teach them to learn sports, have fun, and watch them grow and discover this beautiful game. When he’s not coaching or working, he spends his time watching soccer games and discovering the natural beauty of Las Vegas and nearby places, mountains, and lakes with his wife.

Coach Anycia recently moved to Henderson from Utah and has been coaching with Soccer Shots since the spring of 2022. Anycia has 7 years of youth soccer coaching experience and has coached on teams with players ages 2-18. She has coached at the recreation, club, and high school level.
In addition to having extensive experience as a soccer player herself, Anycia is a U.S. Soccer Licensed Coach (All Grassroots Licenses) and an NYSA member coach with American Red Cross certifications. Anycia is the older sister to 9 siblings and the favorite aunt of 15 nieces and nephews, many of whom she has had the privilege to coach.
Anycia’s Coaching Philosophy: There are many paths a player can take when it’s time for them to move on from your team. I try to focus on how I, as the coach, can set them up for success on whatever path they take. To me, a “player centered” coach builds character, confidence, as well as skills in a player and looks at what’s best for them as a developing person, not what’s best for the coach’s ego.
