Meet The Coaches

We are proud to have the best coaches in youth soccer.

Connie Chan Zhang

Connie Chan Zhang

Head Coach

Coach Connie was born in Panama and moved to Jamaica shortly after at a very young age. With the many changes happening in her life, soccer has been the one constant growing up. She has also been involved in many types of sports but has always fallen back on soccer as her safety net. Being physically active at such a young age has allowed her to recognize the importance of movement for character development and creating skills that are transferable outside of soccer. Connie holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Toronto. Connie has gained her coaching experience from being an instructor for Camp U of T for 2 consecutive summers, and subsequently as a Personal Trainer for 4 years, working with various age groups and levels of physical fitness. She strongly believes that through her professional experience, she will be able to bring joy and character development to the lives of children in the Markham and Richmond Hill communities through Soccer Shots and all the fun that comes with it!

David Nersisyan

Coach David  has been part of the soccer community from a very young age. He is very passionate about the sport and started his soccer career at the age of 5. He has been the captain and leading goal scorer in the GTA whilst playing for the Richmond Hill Raiders Soccer Club. Upon the end of his season with Richmond Hill, he was scouted by the Carlos Rivas Soccer Academy, travelling worldwide and playing soccer abroad. He has been a soccer coach since the age of 15 and continues to be a helpful role model and coach for all the children in the Greater Toronto Area. He spends a majority of his coaching schedule interacting and bonding with his soccer students, providing them a very enjoyable and positive atmosphere. He is always ready to spend quality coaching hours with his students and pursue them to reach their ultimate potential. David is currently a post secondary student at the University of Toronto, hoping to further educate himself as he is completing a Physiology and Chemistry double major program.  David is happy to be a part of Soccer Shots, and is always ready to help the younger generation build character and skills, all while having fun!

Since then, Danielle has taken the skills she learned from her leadership role and has used them to form her into the responsible, hard-working, and confident woman she is today. Her enjoyment extends beyond just playing the game as she has also volunteered for the Richmond Hill Soccer Club and coached multiple winning teams with which she was able to pass on everything she has learned. Aside from playing soccer, Danielle is currently studying to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health Science with aspirations to become an athletic therapist for top-tier athletes. Coach Danielle’s goal is to motivate her players and help them develop both as athletes and individuals. She is excited to help the youth discover the same passion she discovered at a young age.
