Meet The Coaches

Coach Connie was Born in Lima, Peru and raised in Metairie, Louisiana. She is also on the Board of Directors with two major non-profits organizations, one in Florida and one in Louisiana. She also coaches recreational 7U boys with MSC Mandeville Soccer Club during Spring and Fall. When she is not coaching, you will find her on the sidelines as she is part of the U.S. Soccer Federation Referee Program all throughout the Country. Connie has successfully nourished her insatiable passion of raising up leaders in a unique manner. A graduate of Grace King High School in Metairie, LA she became one of the youngest soccer captains and led the Lady Irish to the 5-A State Playoffs in 2003 and District Championship in 2004 and 2005. After Hurricane Katrina struck her city in 2005, she relocated to Birmingham, Alabama where she finished college and taught Character Development to leaders all around the country. As a result of the pandemic, she then relocated back home to Louisiana.

Coach Dallas has been involved with Soccer Shots for over a year. He is passionate about helping kids gain a love for soccer! He has been playing soccer for over 10 years, and was the assistant coach for the Hammond High Girls soccer team last season. In his free time, Dallas enjoys spending time with his wife and son.

Coach Taylor grew up in West Virginia and has been involved in soccer for over 20 years. She was inspired by her older brother and followed in his soccer footsteps from rec to club to high school soccer. She played collegiate soccer at Barton College and graduated with a degree in psychology in 2020. During college she volunteered coaching with the local rec teams and fell in love with coaching. She is currently working towards her doctorate in clinical psychology and will graduate in 2025. She is excited to continue to share her love for the game with kids through the soccer shots curriculum.

Coach Melanie is a graduate from the University of New Orleans with 28 years teaching experience and 22 years of coaching experience. She has coached a variety of levels from U6 recreation through high school soccer teams along with winning 10 championships and tournaments. Her passion lies with coaching. She feels that helping players achieve their goals is a more gratifying accomplishment than winning trophies. When Coach Melanie is not coaching, she can be found teaching, kayaking or playing with her dog, Oswald.

Coach Victoria has lived her whole life in Metairie, LA and recently moved to Slidell, LA. She graduated from the University of New Orleans with a bachelor’s in psychology and is currently getting her Masters in School Counseling from University of New Orleans. She has worked with children since she was in high school at Mount Carmel and has a passion for seeing and helping children succeed. She is excited for this opportunity to work with Soccer Shots and create an environment for children to have fun and grow.

Coach Matthew grew up in Covington, LA and recently graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in Management. He is excited about continuing his education by getting his Master’s in entrepreneurship from LSUS in the fall this year and then taking over his parent’s pizza restaurant, Mama D’s Pizza and More, in the future. Coach Matthew has played soccer ever since he was little for both local club and high school teams in the Northshore area and continued playing the sport up until his high school sophmore year. He developed his passion for the sport after watching his uncle play and watch soccer games growing up. He is happy to inspire others to find their love for the game with this program.
