Coach Orlando grew up in Florida. He began playing soccer when he was 12 and rapidly gained the love for the sport and all of its teachings. After High School, he went off to college in Orlando, FL and obtained a Criminal Justice degree. There, he began sharing his passion for the sport coaching for the Orlando City Youth Academy, a local High School, Club teams and development programs. In 2015 he moved to North Carolina and started to pursue what he is most passionate about within Soccer Shots, developing character in young minds through soccer, just as someone did for him as a young 7-year-old boy. Coach Orlando and his family are grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community and contribute to shaping young minds in the beautiful area of Salt Lake.
Coach Israel (Izzy)
Coach Izzy has lived in Utah all of his life. He started playing soccer early, at the age of 8. Coach Izzy enjoys playing soccer by currently playing around the valley, at places like Gardner Village, Sports City and Beehive Soccer Club. He graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor’s in respiratory therapy. His constant drive to give back to the community has driven him to coach the next soccer generation and for him to have an opportunity to share his passion with them. He enjoys the outdoors, sports, spending time with his family and good food! Coach Izzy is excited to share his love for soccer with his friends on soccer island and might even get some good food ideas along the way.
Coach Cameron (Cam)
Coach Cameron has lived in Salt Lake City his whole life. He started playing soccer when he was 4 years of age and gained the love for it right away. He loves soccer so much, that he thinks about it during every part of his daily life routine. Coach Cameron currently plays soccer and graduated from West Jordan High School in 2018, where he also played. He also enjoys working on cars, while dribbling a soccer ball.
Coach Emily has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old. She is currently attending Salt Lake Community College and majoring in Sports Education for the following 2 years. Emily has played at a very high-level competitive soccer, ending up just underneath the US Women’s national team at the age of 17. She enjoys taking on the role of shaping the minds of youth to better educate them in the ideals and characteristics to be a great soccer player, and an even better role model for the world. She particularly finds value in teaching children ages 2-8, because it is the best time to teach fundamentals of soccer and reinforce the value of sports and all of its teachings.
Coach Thomas (Tom)
Coach Tom began playing soccer at the age of 4 in upstate New York. While he always enjoyed it, his love for the game really took off in middle school. He began studying physics and education at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, but eventually pursued a film degree from South Seas in New Zealand. While there, Coach Tom played in a mens league and has continued to do so after returning to the USA. Coach Tom recently moved to Salt Lake City from New York.
