Meet The Coaches

Coach Bobby

Executive Director

Bobby fell in love with soccer in 2002 and has enjoyed coaching youth soccer ever since. After getting his feet wet coaching at the YMCA, he moved on to club and school coaching. During that time, Bobby coached youth soccer year round at all levels: indoor, outdoor, 3v3, girls, boys, coed, pre-school through U19. During 2004 through 2006, he was Director of Soccer and head coach for a private school in the OKC area. He holds state level coaching licenses. In addition, to coaching soccer, Bobby also coaches chess to kids. He holds dearly the concept of having fun and learning along the way and truly believes success is judged by size of the child’s smile. Bobby is looking forward to sharing his passion for teaching kids through Soccer Shots and the wonderful game of soccer.

Director of Coaching

Mak first began soccer at 4 years old in Oklahoma City. She continued to play through high school and college, and was captain for both her club and high school teams. Mak continues to love being a team leader as our Director of Coaching. She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and is bilingual in English and Spanish and hopes to apply these skills every day to create an inclusive environment for the children and staff alike. While she started her Soccer Shots career as a coach for the Philadelphia location, she is happy to be a part of her home state’s youth soccer experience. Her favorite part about being a Soccer Shots coach is getting to explore the creative minds of the children and use their fun ideas to expand the possibilities of fun on the field!

Coach Ty

Coach Ty is from Bartlesville, OK where he was a captain for the High School Varsity Squad. In High School, he coached a U-4 coed team, a U-8 girls team, and ran various private trainings and camps. Additionally, he played club soccer for Northeast Oklahoma FC. Ty studied at the University of Oklahoma, where he played on the Men’s Club Soccer Team. During his time at OU, he gave back to the local community by raising awareness and funds for Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Foundation and Royal Family Kid’s Camp! Coach Ty is now a full-time coach and administrative assistant for Soccer Shots OKC and loving it. His favorite part about being a Soccer Shots coach is having the opportunity to allow kids to learn soccer fundamentals in a fun and safe environment!

With over twenty years of recreational and competitive soccer experience and nine years of coaching youth athletes, Coach Trevor makes an excellent addition to the Soccer Shots OKC team! Trevor graduated from his hometown of Mustang, Oklahoma and later attended the University of Oklahoma to study business administration as well as earned two Personal Trainer and Nutrition Specialist certificates from nationally accredited programs. Coach Trevor is excited to share the imagination of children as they explore soccer island learning about life values, developing key motor skills, and having fun in a comfortable rewarding environment.

Coach Rachel began playing soccer at the age of four and played through high school. While getting a bachelors degree from the University of Oklahoma, she was a competitive rower and played soccer as a way to build friendships. Rachel was drawn to Soccer Shots for their efforts to develop positive character traits at a young age. She has a wealth of soccer knowledge she is excited to share with the next generation of soccer players!

Coach Heidi kicked her first soccer ball at the age of 4 and she fell in the love with the game. After graduating high school, she began her studies at OSU/OKC to achieve her associates degree. Heidi began working as a kindergarten assistant and director/coordinator of the summer program at Villa Teresa. During those years is when she began coaching soccer and T-ball. The last few years she has added referring into her love for the games. She found out about Soccer Shots though the eyes of a parent. After seeing the positive impact this program made in the lives of her own children she knew she had to be part of it.

Coach Cate’s first experience with soccer began in early elementary school when she played for a local league with North OKC Soccer Club. She went on to manage her high school soccer team for three years during which time she gained important skills in communication, group management, and teamwork. Coach Cate began working with children after earning her certifications to teach preschool at a mother’s-day-out in Yukon, Oklahoma. This sparked her passion for early childhood education. She spent years working as a live-in special needs nanny to children of varying ages where she gained important insight on the significance of nurturing every child’s individual mind to ensure equal opportunities for growth.
Coach Cate believes in the power of shaping young minds through teaching kindness, self empowerment, and the importance of caring for others and she arrives each day to soccer island with that goal in mind.

Coach Maria first started playing soccer at 3 years old in Louisville, Kentucky. She has played throughout her whole life on various school and club teams. After graduating from her high school in Fort Worth, Texas she began playing soccer and studying psychology at Oklahoma Christian University. She now has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. Over the past couple of years, Coach Maria has worked as a lifeguard and has coached children on swim teams. Coach Maria is most excited about sharing her love for soccer and giving children a fun experience to look forward to each week!

Coach Andrew has played soccer in Edmond, Oklahoma since he was 4; playing all the way through highschool! Currently he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology with hopes of going to law school. Andrew has always had a passion for playing soccer so coaching was a natural extension. He is grateful to have the opportunity to make a positive impact in kids lives. Andrew is most excited to provide the love of the game and give the same character building he received during his youth soccer experience.

Coach Bella is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and first started playing soccer at 3 years old. Soccer has always been a big part of her life and she still continues to find a love for the game years later. In college, she played at the Division 1 level for Youngstown State University and received a dual Bachelors degree in Psychology and Biology and is now pursuing her Masters degree in Genetic Counseling at the University Of Oklahoma. Coach Bella is excited to help children build their self esteem and spark that love of soccer that she experienced when she was first starting to play!

Coach Derrick began playing organized soccer at the age of 4. He was able to use that early knowledge to develop into competitive soccer in high school as well as for his Norman Club team. This is where he earned all-state and all-district awards playing for a junior college! While he is currently applying for an OT program after finishing his undergrad, he fully buys into the idea of developing young children to not just learn soccer and develop social skills, but to enjoy it as well!
