Coach Ed was born and raised in Brazil, a place that lives and breathes soccer. He majored in Electrical Engineering and played soccer his whole life, including in high school and college. His passion for soccer and all the benefits that the sport has brought into his life are beyond words. He is looking forward to positively impacting children, parents, coaches and the community, pursuing excellence in every action and decision. He has 3 children which are his inspiration to pursue this career.
Coach Matt was born in Derby, England and moved over to Florida at 9 years old. Coaching has been his passion since he was 24 years old. It’s all he has been doing since then. He loves introducing this beautiful game to the children! Coach Matt holds a USSF D license. He attends Lakeside Church in Oakland and he hopes to make a lasting impact within your community.
Coach Sergio was born in Bogotá, Colombia and has been playing soccer both recreationally and competitively for as long as he can remember. Growing up in the bustling city, he would play anywhere he could find. He was overjoyed to discover the large, lush fields suburban Orlando had to offer when he moved to the U.S. at the age of seven. Sergio’s 5+ years of experience working as an entertainer and photographer has harnessed his joy of working alongside children. He cannot stress enough how rewarding it is every day not only to teach his favorite sport, but to also help kids grow and have an actively positive impact on the community.
Coach Hope was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida but ventured off to Orlando, Florida to play college soccer. She now calls Orlando home where she has created new friendships, pursued a college degree, and joined Soccer Shots. She has received her Bachelors of Applied Science in Business Management and Organizational Leadership at the end of July 2020. She has been an active soccer player since the age of 5 when her parents enrolled her in the local soccer club. She has had the opportunity to coach children from the age of 10-15 and continues her coaching passion with Soccer Shots. She is excited to coach for a program that is dedicated to instilling lifelong characteristics into children while playing the best sport, soccer.
Cheyenne grew up playing soccer in a small town in South Dakota. Throughout her years growing up she participated in many different activities, but soccer was her passion. She continued to play year-round and assist in coaching for 11 years. She even played on the University of Lincoln-Nebraska’s club team! Since graduating from college, she continues to play the occasional game of soccer here and there but truly just enjoys coaching with Soccer Shots and growing with the children each season.
Coach Zoe is originally from Puerto Rico, and moved over to Florida a year ago. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and minor certification in Physical Education from University of Puerto Rico in Arecibo. She’s currently a first-grade teacher in OCPS and loves been surrounded by kids. She’s been involved in sports and activities such as softball, volleyball, dance and soccer. Coach Zoe got her first job as a soccer coach as part of an after-school program and fell in love with it. She truly believes that throughout sport we can teach many principles and values and impact kid’s lives in a positive way. She feels grateful for being part of Soccer Shots and to have the opportunity to motivate and inspire kids in each lesson.
“Can everyone say HI coach MJ!!!” in your best jersey accent?? Coach MJ is originally from just about EVERYWHERE in New Jersey that you can think of! About 7 years ago, she and her family decided to make their way down to Florida! She’s been involved in sports and activities in her life such as basketball, and soccer. Theater, volunteer work and being an assistant coach for several years has also been a big passion. As child, it was difficult moving around so much. It was scary trying to go fit in, but sports gave her that extra boost of confidence she needed! Coach MJ found soccer shots in search of something positive! This program helps children, and even her as a coach to build confidence, a healthy relationship with yourself, and meet new goals! “The word of the day is INTEGRITY!” Because after all, this is what it’s all about!
Coach Justin, born and raised in Orlando, grew up in a large Puerto Rican family where soccer is everything. Some of his earliest memories involve large family gatherings and playing soccer all day long. Having spent almost a decade as an actor for Disney’s live entertainment he has traveled from Orlando to LA to Shanghai and everything in between performing for children and families of all kinds. Coach Justin is excited to bring his creative energy to every lesson so that every session on Soccer Island is fun and inspirational.
Coach Ayanna, better known as Coach Ay, was born in New York City but grew up in the Poconos of Pennsylvania. She moved to Florida when she was 18 and currently studies elementary education at the University of Central Florida. Coach Ay currently wears a few hats. She works as a substitute teacher working mostly in the St. Cloud elementary schools. Along with being a substitute, she is also a certified yoga and prenatal yoga teacher! She’s always had a passion for staying active, and has fond memories of playing soccer, basketball, and kickball at her local community center every summer in her hometown. Her passion for staying active, practicing mindfulness, and educating children is what drew her to coaching with Soccer Shots. Be prepared for your kids to go home learning soccer skills and yoga poses!
Coach Luis is originally from New York, and now calls Orlando his home. His soccer experience includes playing for Brentwood high school and the Central Florida Soccer League. Coach Luis has trained kids 4-16 for different youth programs in Florida! Coach Luis first fell in love with soccer when he was 7 years old, and he is most looking forward to spreading his love for soccer and having a positive impact on kids.
Coach Edwin was born in California and raised in NY. He has always been interested in staying active since a young age. His love for soccer began in his teens and has always been a part of his life ever since. He enlisted in the Air Force and after that his passion for health and fitness began. He has been a group trainer, kickboxing instructor and personal trainer and has always believed in the importance of children staying active for health and development. Soccer Shots has given him the opportunity to put that into practice.
Coach Jan was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and coming from a military family, has moved pretty much everywhere. He recently graduated from Clarks Summit University, where he was also a part of the men’s soccer team. Jan will be furthering his education at the University of South Florida to receive his doctorate in physical therapy. His desire to serve people translates directly onto the field, as he loves coaching kids and inspiring them to be better versions of themselves everyday.
