Coach Abby

Coach Abby

Coach Abby was born and raised in Wake Forest, NC. She has been playing soccer since she was 5 and volunteering as a coach since she was a freshman in college. She graduated from Barton College in May 2021 with a degree in Graphic Design, playing college soccer competitively for 3 years. Coach Abby had the opportunity to play soccer in Sweden in middle school which was one of her most memorable experiences. She loves spending time with friends and family, traveling, playing soccer, and creating art.

Coach Adam

Coach Adam

Coach Adam was born in New York but spent the majority of his life living in Chapel Hill, NC. He has been playing soccer ever since he was 4, playing middle school and high school soccer alongside club soccer for a total of 12 years. He graduated from UNC-CH in May of 2022 with a degree in Computer Science. Just as much as he has played soccer, he also loves playing video games. In his free time, you can always find him playing PC video games or hanging out with his friends.

Coach Alan

Coach Alan

Coach Alan is from Chapel Hill, NC and has been playing soccer since he was 5 years old. During his free time he likes to hang with friends and play video games. He is currently a junior at Durham Tech studying nursing.

Coach Alden

Coach Alden was born in Florida and has lived in North Carolina for the last 25 years. He has played soccer for 20 years and has four years of coaching experience previously. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s in History.

Coach Ann

Coach Ann

Coach Ann was born and raised in Raleigh, NC and has been playing soccer for 12 years. She played for CASL since she was 6 years old and played Varsity for Sanderson High School for 4 years. She plays midfield and defense but her favorite soccer position is left defensive back. She is a Psychology major at Wake Technical Community College studying abnormal and developmental psychology. When not playing soccer, Coach Ann likes backpacking on trails all over North Carolina or playing basketball and tennis with her friends.

Coach Annalise

Coach Anna was born and raised in Wooster, Ohio. She has been playing soccer since she was 3 and coaching since she was a freshman in high school. She graduated from Urbana University May 2017 with a degree in Sports Management, playing college soccer all 4 years. Coach Annalise had the opportunity to attend the Women’s World Cup in Canada 2015, which was one of her most memorable experiences. She loves spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, playing soccer, skiing, hiking, and watching the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Coach Anna

Program Coordinator

Coach Anna was born and raised in Waxhaw, NC. She loves to be outside and has been playing the sport since she was 6 years old, she played soccer for her first two years of college at Catawba College. Recently, she graduated from NCSU and majored in Anthropology. She played professionally in the first season ever of the National Indoor Soccer League this past Winter with the Fayetteville Fury! Coach Anna’s hobbies include camping, hiking, and reading.

Coach Bo

Coach Bo

Coach Bo was born in Alabama and grew up around the Mobile Bay area. He has been playing soccer since he was just three years old! He continued to play soccer in Middle school, High school, and also played club soccer. He is currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Student Ministry at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. When he’s not playing or coaching soccer, he enjoys watching professional soccer as well! His favorite team has always been Manchester United and loves to talk about their latest game with anyone who will listen!

Coach Brandon

Coach Brandon

Coach Brandon was born and raised in Bear, DE before moving to Durham, NC when he was 8 years old. He has played soccer at a middle school and varsity level as a center defensive back. He majored in Sports Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has coached soccer at the varsity level at Emerson Waldorf School. When not coaching soccer, Brandon spends his time making music and producing for some of your favorite artists including: Playboi Carti, Migos, Young Thug, Travis Scott and more!

Coach Chris has been playing soccer almost as long as he’s been walking! He has competed in soccer tournaments all over the world, and has managed to score goals in four different countries. Coach Chris enjoys sharing his passion for soccer with our Soccer Friends. When he’s not teaching, Coach Chris will be spending time with his wife and son as they attempt to complete DIY projects around their home!

Partner Service Coordinator

Coach Cody grew up in Wake Forest, NC, and attended UNC-Chapel Hill where he studied Exercise and Sport Science. He started working with children 14 years ago and has coached several sports in that time including soccer and hockey. Cody is our Partner Services Coordinator, which means when he is not coaching, he is sending marketing emails, maintaining our social media accounts, and reaching out to potential new partners. When not kicking it out on Soccer Island, he loves playing guitar, camping, and spending time with his wife and new son.

Coach Corey

Coach Corey

Coach Corey was born and raised locally in Raleigh, North Carolina. He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2019 and will always bleed Carolina blue! Last year, Coach Corey had the opportunity to work and live for a year in Korea, so feel free to ask him about some of the Korean words he may have learned! In his free time you can find him playing a wide variety of sports, reading, or gaming.

Coach Drew is originally from the Raleigh area where he grew up as a player and referee for CASL. He then attended Appalachian State University where he graduated in 2017 with a degree in Political Science. After playing both outdoor and indoor soccer as an adult, he transitioned into coaching administration. As a USSF certified coach he currently follows his passion for soccer at the youth development level. In his free time he enjoys backpacking, cooking, reading, and most of all, playing SOCCER!

Coach Dylan loves soccer!  Since he was 8 months old he was dribbling the soccer ball and since he was 4 years old he has been playing soccer competitively.  After playing all through high school and finishing his last youth season, he decided to try his talents at coaching.  His passion for children and youth sports is what he thinks will help pave a way to completing his dream.

Coach Eric is originally from Fluvanna, Virginia where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Old Dominion University in 2017 with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies. After that, Coach Eric moved to Miami, FL for a bit before landing in Raleigh, NC. He plans to live here until his hair turns grey or until another location comes calling. He is a big Greenbay Packers fan and love soccer as well.

Coach Glendon

Captain

Coach Glendon (Glen) was born and raised on the sunny island of Jamaica, where he played high school soccer and ran track. Coach Glen graduated with a doctoral degree from Columbia Theological Seminary, where his dissertation/project concentrated on helping survivors of sexual abuse find healing. He holds a National D Coaching License from the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF). Coach Glen has been working with children for over 12 years. He believes that children deserve to be loved unconditionally, be given all the opportunities to be the best they can be in life, and have fun. He currently lives with his wife and 3-year-old son, Caleb, in North Carolina. Coach Glen passionately supports FC Barcelona.

Coach Hannah

Coach Hannah

Coach Hannah was born and raised in Charleston, SC. She began playing soccer at age 3 and continued to play throughout high school. While soccer wasn’t the only sport she played, it has always been a favorite. After high school she earned a B.A. in Special Education at Clemson University. During her time at Clemson she discovered rugby and it quickly became another favorite. Sports have always been a big part of her life and had a very positive impact. She only hopes to have the same impact on all of her soccer friends!

Coach Ian

Coach Ian

Coach Ian has played soccer for as long as he can remember, starting in Key West where he grew up. He started out with AYSO as a player and youth referee, then transitioned to playing for his high school. Ian attended Florida Gulf Coast University, where he received his Bachelor’s in Marine Science and continued playing soccer in intramural leagues. He has since developed a love for youth sports and recreation and spent time in various roles coaching and teaching. His favorite things to do outside of work are rock climbing, hiking, swimming, and spending time with his wife and three pets.

Coach Jo

Coach Jo was born and raised in Somerville, NJ. Growing up, she loved playing any sport she could, from swimming, to rowing, to lacrosse and of course, soccer! Starting in a youth soccer program at only 2 years old, Coach Jo has always had a passion for getting out on the field and playing with friends! In her 14 years of soccer, she played every position on the field and is excited to share her experience with the next generation of soccer stars! She is currently a senior Computer Science major at Duke University and will commission as an Ensign in the US Navy upon graduation. In her free time, she loves to bake and lift, and is currently learning Aikido.

Coach Josh

Josh has played soccer competitively his whole life. He started coaching club soccer at the age of 18 years old where he discovered that coaching is his passion! He wants to continue his coaching career and be a role model to the youth. In his free time, he likes to hangout with his friends and workout.

Coach Jordan

Coach Jordan

Coach Jordan was born in Raleigh NC and has lived in here his whole life. He began playing soccer at 3 years old and has played for club teams growing up. He began playing classic soccer from 7th grade until 10th grade. He also played for his high school team at Panther Creek, where he graduated from in 2021. Coach Jordan first found his love for coaching kids soccer when he volunteered and coached soccer when he was 15 at his church over the summer. He is still currently playing in an adult league and is super excited for this opportunity to spread his love and passion for the game to the youth.

Coach José

Coach José

Coach José was born in New York City, New York and moved to Raleigh, NC in 2011. He has coached and refereed soccer for 3 years now. He graduated from ECU with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Studies and Business minor. Growing up, he was always involved in sports and athletics, whether it be playing or volunteer coaching. In his spare time, he enjoys watching sports, being outdoors, and playing video games. He is a recent addition to our team and we are so excited to have him!

Coach Juan

Coach Juan

Coach Juan was born in Cali, Colombia and he grew up playing soccer. He even had the chance to play in the lower divisions with America de Cali, Boca Juniors de Cali, and other teams as well as his High School soccer team since 6th grade. Juan used to be a goalkeeper, now he plays midfielder or winger. He moved to the United States in 2019 to look for new opportunities! He has recently graduated, with an Associates degree in Science, from Alamance Community College and plans to transfer to NCCU to major in Geospatial Science. When Juan is not playing soccer, he enjoys listening to music, running, cooking, hiking, watching soccer, and spending time with his loved ones. Also, Juan believes that love and affection can melt away stress and anxiety in children which can lead them further into a successful future and it can help them develop strong relationships with others.

Coach Juma

Coach Juma

Coach Juma is from east Africa, Tanzania. He came here in 2016, and  has been playing soccer since he was 3 years old. He went to Jordan High school in Durham NC, and then transferred to Hillside High school in Durham NC. He is currently, an undergraduate student at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, having transferred from Chowan University. He enjoys playing soccer and his favorite professional club is Liverpool FC.

Coach Katie

Coach Katie was born and raised in the small town of Crabtree, Pennsylvania and started playing soccer when she was 4 years old. After graduating college from Penn State University, where she played both varsity and club soccer, Katie moved to Oakland, California to teach garden and nutrition at an elementary school – frequently playing soccer with kids at recess. Coach Katie loves to cook and bake in her free time and spend time with her friends and family. She also loves to run!

Coach Kent

Coach Kent

Coach Kent was born in Charlotte NC and played soccer from the age of 6 starting in Chapel Hill NC. He continued playing soccer through Middle school and High school for both School and Travel teams competing in tournaments in various states across the United States at the Premier level. He then played D2 collegiate level soccer briefly before joining the Army at the age of 19 as a 68W (combat medic). After Military service he returned to Chapel Hill to further his education and be the best that he can be for his family. Traveling the world and experiencing other cultures has greatly influenced who he is. Kent wants to give back to the community he grew up in and make as positive an impact as possible for everyone around him. While not working Kent spends time with his family, reads, plays video games, and goes to the gym.

Coach M was born in central NC, but did most of her growing up in the mid-west. While attending Gustavus Adolphus College in southern MN, Coach M played competitive softball and rugby. In her free time you can catch her playing board games with friends, planning her next adventure, and hanging out with her dog, Franklin.

Coach Matt is from Apex, NC where he is attending Wake Tech pursuing an Associate in Science and an Associate in Arts. He played soccer throughout Elementary and Middle School, and plays for a league in Raleigh, NC. Matt spends his free time working out, playing football, and camping.

Coach Matthew was born and raised in Troutman, NC. He started playing soccer at the age of 5 and played intramural soccer at NCSU. Coach Matthew graduated from NC State (The Best College) with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and a minor in Coaching Education. In his spare time, he hangs out with his fiancé, Lucy and his best paw friend Cash.

Coach Melissa

Coach Melissa was raised just outside of Charlotte, NC and started playing soccer at a young age. She has always loved the sport and played it recreationally through college at UNC Chapel Hill. Outside of coaching, you can catch Coach Melissa hanging out with her dog Ophie, working out, and going on adventures with friends.

Coach Michael

Coach Michael

Coach Michael was born in West Africa and moved to Wilmington, Delaware at the age of 9.  He is studying business and marketing at Wake Tech to do International Business. Coach Michael has played plenty of sports, he currently holds the High School record for the fastest times in the 110 M hurdles and 100 M sprint for track in Delaware. In his free time, Coach Michael is building a non-profit organization to raise awareness and transfer of knowledge from West Africa to the US and from the US to West Africa!

Coach Nick

Coach Nick was born and raised in DC and Northern Virginia. He started playing soccer when he was 4 and started coaching soccer when he was 16. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. When he’s off the soccer field he enjoys spending time with his 1 year old puppy, skiing down the slopes, roller blading, and anything that involves competition!

Coach Rahul

Coach Rahul grew up in Cary, NC but was born in Toronto, Canada. He moved to London, UK until he was 4 and then moved to Cary. Coach Rahul played as a goalkeeper for Green Hope and graduated with a degree in Exercise Science. In his spare time he enjoys playing my saxophone, playing soccer and playing video games. Coach Rahul has also been coaching club soccer for 5 years and truly loves the sport.

Coach Sarah

Coach Sarah is from Long Island, NY. She played 4 years of soccer while at Loyola University of Maryland, where she majored in biology/ speech language hearing sciences and minored in biomedical physics. She also played a fifth year at the University of North Carolina, where she is pursuing a Doctorate of Audiology. When she is not playing soccer, she is drawing, listening to music, or running!

Coach Stewart

Coach Stewart was born in Alexandria, VA but moved to Pennsylvania when he was just 3 years old, it was there where he discovered his passion for the game of soccer. He has been playing since 4 years old playing club and school soccer all the way through highschool. He attended West Chester University through his sophomore year and is taking the year off from school to find a career he enjoys. When he is not playing soccer, he likes to play pickup basketball with friends, watch football, and play video games.

Coach Theresa (Tess) moved to Raleigh, NC from Buffalo, NY. She graduated from the State University Of New York at Brockport with a degree in Exercise Science for Health Promotion. She loves to spend time with friends, her cat Cooper and to be outside and enjoy the better weather in NC.

Coach Ty was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has played soccer since the age of 4. He attended Knightdale High School and went on to study at North Carolina State University. Coach Ty has returned to Soccer Shots after traveling and living for a year in Australia and is very excited to be back!

Coach Tyler was born and raised in Fontana,Ca. She has been active since she was 4, from playing soccer to training martial arts. For fun she love to listen to music, go on hikes with her dog, and spending time time with her family. She is working on her Associates degree at Wake Tech and plans to continue education at ECU.

Coach Uche

Coach Uche

Coach Uche is from Nigeria but grew up in Durham. He started playing soccer in his early elementary school years and fell in love with the sport ever since. While Uche was in high school (Durham School of the Arts), and in college (UNCG) he refereed soccer, football, and basketball matches, and coached basketball. Uche has also been working with childcare for over 8 years and is excited to be able to coach again!

Coach Zoë

Coach Zoë comes to us by way of Soccer Shots Pittsburgh, and is a graduate of and former rower at Auburn University. She began playing soccer at 5 years old after watching the 1999 US Women’s team. Since then she has played and coached a variety of sports, and understands the importance sport can play in motor learning and character development. In her free time she loves to run, read, and cheer for her Auburn Tigers!
