Director of Coaching
Coach Sean was born and raised in East Sussex, United Kingdom. He started playing soccer from a very young age and it rapidly became his bread and butter. He played for club teams and attended a couple of academies throughout his academic years. Sean’s real journey and passion for coaching came when he captained a club for 5 years then moved into player/ coaching mode. He moved to the United States in 2014 and got hooked on coaching youth soccer. Sean is currently a licensed coach who is still eager to learn more. Coaching America’s future soccer players is the best job in the world and he feels as though he has so much to give back to the sport!
Director Of Operations
Coach Cassie grew up in Oakdale, MN and currently resides in North Saint Paul, MN. She started playing soccer at the young age of three and continued to play all the way through college. She played collegiate soccer at Minnesota State University, Mankato and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. She then moved out to Mount Pleasant, MI and earned her Master’s in Sports Administration and was the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach for the Central Michigan University Women’s Soccer Team for four seasons. When she moved back to Minnesota, she served as the Eagan YMCA Sports Director before joining the Soccer Shots team. Her and her husband Nate enjoy going golfing, playing cribbage, exploring new cities and attractions and hanging out with their dog Roscoe. She has a real passion for working with youth and loves being able to positively impact their growth and development and of course, having the opportunity to share her passion for soccer!
Director of Development
Coach Jon has aggressively consumed soccer since 1989. He started coaching in 2005 and has spent well over 250 hours attaining coaching licenses and certifications. His business degree and marketing/sales experience help to grow and develop the organization. Jon has coached players from age 2 through 19, including multiple D1 collegiate athletes. He coached high school soccer for 6 years and spent 16 months working full-time at a nationwide recognized soccer academy. Having played soccer on 5 continents, Jon offers a unique perspective and fresh approach. He played collegiate soccer at Bethel University and in Chicago alongside teammates from Europe, South America & Africa. He also served as the Technical Skill Director and coach for North Suburban Soccer Association.
Coach Sam grew up in Wisconsin, but currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As the oldest of five Sam grew up surrounded by kids. He has a history as a volunteer in kids care programs, as a teacher in summer camps, and as a leader of kid activities during missions. Sam has played soccer since he was twelve, and in high school and college teams. He also loves to play pick-up whenever he can, and has played with locals during his travels into different countries, including Turkey, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Peru! Sam looks forward to each session with Soccer Shots, and loves to teach to the kids his favorite thing about soccer: Have fun!
Coach Jenna was born and raised in Minnesota. She started playing soccer at 13 and has loved it ever since. She has experience working with youth in Minnesota, Japan, and the United Kingdom. During her time at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, she designed a research project on football being used to battle social exclusion in the UK. She worked with organizations for that project that used football to reduce homelessness and youth crime. Soccer and development quickly became a passion which lead her to become a coach for Soccer Shots. She hopes to use soccer to inspire future generations.
Coach Rachel grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She started playing soccer when she was 8 and played club soccer at the University of Minnesota. She also enjoyed playing softball and volleyball growing up. Coach Rachel holds a Bachelors in Psychology. Coach Rachel has enjoyed working with kids her whole life. She has worked as a nanny, a Pre-K teacher, and a swim instructor and volunteered at her church as a Sunday School teacher. Coach Rachel is very excited to bring her diverse experience to Soccer Shots and make a positive impact on the young athletes she works with.
Coach Megan grew up in Bloomington and played soccer since age 8. She played varsity soccer for Bloomington Kennedy and was named to the all conference and all state team as a senior. She also played for an U19 women’s traveling team while in Minnesota. She lived in Texas for 20 years where she raised 2 children who graduated from college and now have fulfilling careers. In Texas, Megan taught preschool, was a summer day camp instructor, volunteered as a youth soccer coach and was an assistant coach for an U14 club team. She also took a coaches training course and holds a D coaching license. She has played soccer through her adulthood. In her free time, she likes to watch youth soccer, lacrosse, and football as well as all college and professional sports. She is happy to be back “home” to be with her friends and family.
Coach Carol has been playing her whole life. She came from a soccer family where her two older brothers and parents also played soccer. She is originally from Plymouth Minnesota and now lives in River Falls Wisconsin. Coach Carol has also worked as a nanny, cook, and a caregiver at the YMCA. Some of her hobbies, besides soccer, are going for runs, cooking, traveling, and scuba diving. She is very excited to be working with Soccer Shots to spread the love for soccer.
Coach Heder has played soccer since he was 8 years old. He has been playing soccer in his dad’s soccer team where they have won countless league championships. Coach Heder has also played High School Varsity for the Richfield Spartans. He is eager to keep learning and moving up in coaching to eventually reach college or professional coaching. In his free time you can find him, camping, fishing, hiking, paddle boarding, playing soccer, or at a lot of restaurants checking out their special dish.
Coach Bridget is a student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. She grew up in St. Paul and enjoys spending her time with her friends, her big family, and loves to cook, laugh, and spend time in the sun. She has experience with children babysitting and nannying and working as a caregiver at the neighborhood church. She has been playing soccer since she could walk and hasn’t stopped since.
Coach Amanda grew up in McCall, Idaho before going to college in Madison, Wisconsin for kinesiology and then massage therapy school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up playing soccer from the early age of 5 and also transitioned into other sports throughout her early childhood. Cross county running and cross country skiing were among her favorites! Coach Amanda also coaches Girls On The Run along with volunteer coaching her children. Her family leads a very active lifestyle!
Coach Joe grew up in Middleton, Wisconsin. He began playing soccer at the age of 5 and continued to play through high school. He graduated from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Spanish Studies in 2018. Coach Joe has had 2 years of experience as a Youth sports coach at a summer camp in Middleton and loves the fun and goofy nature of working with children. In his free time, he likes to play sports, exercise, and enjoys cooking.
Coach Maya has been playing soccer for as long as she can remember! She played for a variety of club teams growing up, as well as for her high school and through intramurals at the University of Minnesota. She grew up in Minneapolis and hasn’t left – she loves living close to the many lakes, parks, and bike paths in the city! When not playing soccer, Maya enjoys jumping in lakes, hiking, and making silly faces, and she is super excited to be coaching soccer!
Coach Halee was born and raised in Hudson, WI. She started playing soccer at a young age and played throughout High School. She currently resides in Saint Paul, MN where she is continuing to play soccer on various leagues. Halee also enjoys traveling, working out and watching sports! She is excited to spread the love for soccer with the Soccer Shots team!
Coach Alul was born in Ethiopia, grew up in Texas and attended college and graduate school in Minnesota. She has been playing soccer since she was 10 years old. Alul has worked with youth for the last 6 years and she is super excited to get to use her talents as a coach with Soccer Shots. Alul loves soccer, traveling, food and music.
Coach Ally grew up in Carver County playing soccer through grade school and Minnesota Thunder Academy in middle school. An after school art teacher who now wants to teach kids the valuable lessons soccer has to offer on and off the field!
Coach Kelsey grew up in Saint Louis Park, MN. She has been playing soccer her whole life and while attending the College of Saint Benedict. She loves watching, playing, and coaching soccer! She has experience coaching multiple age levels and has worked teaching English to students in Spain. During her free time, she likes travelling, playing sports, exercising, and reading.
Coach Cassie grew up in Brodhead, Wisconsin and absolutely loved playing sports and staying active. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a Bachelor’s Degree of Social Work, where she focused her education on youth development and child welfare. She has spent time working in daycare settings, elementary schools, and community centers throughout Wisconsin and Minneapolis and has a passion for working with kids. Coach Cassie now lives in River Falls with her dog, Ollie, and loves spending time outside hiking, skiing, and playing sports!
Coach Andy is originally from San Diego, California, where he started playing soccer when he was ten years old. He loved it so much, he played all throughout high school. A knee injury made him take a break for about a year, however he loved the sport so much, he started playing for rec leagues after his knee was healed. Coach Andy started coaching for his old high school team, and also has experience with coaching club teams here in Minnesota. He also works for Minnesota’s very own soccer team, MN United, where he enjoys sharing his love for local sports with fellow fans. He continues to play in his free time, along with watching soccer on t.v., his favorite team being Real Madrid.
Coach Steffi grew up in Cottage Grove, MN. She played soccer for 14 years, starting as a young child through her teen years in High School. She absolutely loves soccer, it is her favorite sport. Coach Steffi also loves Hockey, Baseball, Football, Lacrosse, Basketball, Cricket and Rugby! Coach Steffi is working on her degree in World Religion at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire! She loves to work with kids and has been babysitting since she was 12 years old! Coach Steffi is very excited to teach young kids her favorite sport of Soccer, because she thinks it is important for kids to be and stay active.
Coach Jess grew up playing a variety of sports, but soccer has always been her favorite. She started playing soccer at age 7, continuing to play in high school and for a club team. Coach Jess graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services. During her time at Iowa State, she spent her free time playing pickup soccer, ultimate frisbee, and a variety of intramural sports. Through her experiences volunteering at soccer camps, working at a residential treatment facility, working at a summer camp, and working for various after-school programs, Coach Jess has grown in her knowledge and passion for making a difference in the lives of children. As a coach for Soccer Shots, she is excited about teaching character/social skills, while sharing her love for soccer with the children. In her free time, Coach Jess loves to write poetry, watch Netflix/Hulu, and spend time in nature.
Coach Ruben was born and raised in St. Paul. Growing up he played almost all sports with friends on their main neighborhood street. He began playing organized soccer when he was 8 years old and continued playing through high school. Ruben is looking forward to seeing the Soccer Shots athletes grow as individuals and as a team throughout the seasons
Coach Tiff grew up in a small town in Michigan called Pinconning. There she played soccer from about k-12 and was really fortunate to have some wonderful coaches leaving a great impression. Tiff’s hope is that she can also impact kiddos with the same active passion and enthusiasm from soccer that filled her youth
Coach Malte grew up in the Ruhr region of Germany, right between the big Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04, where soccer is life! He has been playing club soccer since he was 3 years old. After going to school and starting work as a social worker, soccer remained a huge part of his life: he has also coached teams and goalkeepers of various age groups in both Germany and the US. He moved to the Twin Cities in early 2020 and is excited to bring his passion for soccer to a new generation of kids through Soccer Shots, emphasizing both a love of the sport and of sportsmanship.
Coach Kavya was born and raised in Eagan, MN. She goes to school at the University of Minnesota and is studying nursing and leadership. Kavya has played soccer since kindergarten and continues to love the sport today. In addition to soccer, Kavya enjoys being outdoors, helping others, and eating ice cream! Kaya picked up coaching because she wants to make a difference in the lives of children and share her passion for soccer and education. She’s also excited to learn and grow as a leader.
Coach Amanda T
Coach Amanda grew up Golden Valley MN. She likes karaoke, cooking, and working with kids! In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach, eating food, and spending time with friends and family.
Amanda is very excited to share her passion and energy with her new friends through Soccer Shots!
Coach Kellie grew up near Duluth, MN, and currently resides in St. Louis Park. She started playing soccer when she was 5-years old and continued playing throughout high school. Kellie played intramural soccer and participated in indoor club leagues in college.
Kellie enjoys being active, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Kellie works as a certified speech-language pathologist, specializing in early childhood. Kellie has extensive training in early childhood development and is very grateful she loves her career! Kellie is excited to share her love for the sport with new friends through Soccer Shots!
Coach Ngorli grew up in Maple Wood, Minnesota and started playing soccer when he was 6 years old. He plays club soccer at Tonka United and played high schools soccer at Hopkins High School.
Ngorli is currently a freshman at Standford University in California and is majoring in mechanical engineering.
He’s a huge Manchester United fan, and is very excited to add youth coaching to his involvement with the sport!
Coach Gustavo has coached soccer teams for many years in Mexico, and 4 years in Minnesota. This includes St. Michael, Waconia HS, and Mounds View HS.
Gustavo played professional soccer in Mexico City for Club America and Club Universidad. He also worked as a coaching coordinator for F.C Barcelona soccer schools in Cancun. 21 years of coaching and playing experience!
He’s really excited to be a part of Soccer Shots and teach the kids the love he has for the sport. He wants to help them find their own passions and grow as young people.
Coach Gustavo believes that setting good examples and having fun is the key to growth and development. He also enjoys being around the families and giving them the ultimate experience!
Coach Alice grew up in Hermantown, Minnesota but currently resides in Minneapolis. She started playing soccer at the age of four, and she has held a passion for it her entire life. She continued to play through multiple clubs until she started coaching in 2017. Here she further developed her passion for working with kids that was sparked from working with younger cousins and volunteering at her local elementary school. She is currently a student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities pursuing a bachelor’s degree in English. With roughly four years of coaching under her belt, she is always eager to learn. She loves how coaching lets her continue to grow as a person by connecting with kids and seeing the world differently through their unique perspectives.
Coach Kathy’s favorite sport as a child was soccer, soccer and track. She enjoyed playing Striker in High School, College and on various Traveling teams.
Kathy grew up with 8 brothers and also had 3 sons. She had a blast coaching all her boys soccer teams from pre-school up into High School. She appreciated her opportunity to coach Girls High School soccer and work as an Education Assistant for the school district. Kathy flew as a Flight Attendant for 34 years which was great as she thoroughly enjoys travel.
Her favorite thing about working with kids is discovering their unique personalities and helping them grow in confidence and sportsmanship whilst having fun!
Coach Maria was born in Woodbury, MN and grew up in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Maria started playing soccer around age 6 and is ready to start coaching! She’s very excited to take on this new challenge and learn more about soccer. Maria has played indoor and outdoor soccer thoughtful her life, she’s really enjoyed play in High School with her friend for 4 year and help out with soccer clinics at the elementary schools. Maria is very excited to get starter and meet some future soccer stars!
Coach Angie grew up in California and moved to Minneapolis for her undergrad five years ago. She has her BA in Intercultural Studies and is getting her MA in Human Services. She started playing soccer at age seven and has seven years of soccer experience. Coach Angie has always loved working with children of all ages and has experience nannying and teaching Sunday school for her church. Coach Angie also worked as a Residential Counselor for youth in a mental health treatment center and has three years of experience being a youth group leader for her church and two years of teaching English to children and adult immigrants and refugees. Coach Angie is excited to have fun with the kids while also being a positive role model for young children!
Coach Kenzie grew up in North St. Paul, MN. She started playing soccer at the age of 4 and continued through high school. Coach Kenzie went to the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and graduated with a degree and license in Social Work. After graduating she worked in Early Childhood Special Education and now she works for the YMCA as a Nature Preschool Teacher and Summer Camp Coordinator. When Coach Kenzie isn’t teaching or coaching you can find her on an adventure with her dog, at the boxing gym, or making homemade ice cream sandwiches!
Coach Nathaniel was born in Burnsville, Minnesota, and grew up in New Prague, Minnesota. He is currently studying Psychology at the University of Minnesota and pursuing a minor in Sports Coaching. Coach Nathaniel started soccer when he was 8 years old and played varsity soccer at New Prague High School. In fact, he still plays to this day on a team with his friends! When he is not coaching, he loves to hike, watch sports, and play video games with his friends. Nathaniel is also an assistant coach at New Prague Soccer Club.
Coach Abby grew up in Eagan, Minnesota surrounded by soccer with two older siblings who played for many years, she began playing herself at around 3 years old and played until she was 18. She played club soccer for 9 years with Eagan Wave and Dakota Rev, during which she won multiple state championships and traveled around the country each year. Her favorite soccer memory is winning the ESPN Wide World of Sports Showcase in Orlando, Florida and her team’s game being broadcasted on ESPN. She is a current senior at the University of St. Thomas majoring in Political Science. Aside from soccer, Abby has enjoyed working with children by being a nanny for many years, as well as being a lifeguard at Cascade Bay in Eagan, Minnesota. She is excited to make a positive impact on children with the help of the great sport of soccer!
Coach Austin grew up and currently lives in Hopkins, Minnesota. He began playing recreational soccer at the age of 5, played through high school, and continues to play in men’s and coed adult leagues. He attended the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities where he competed for the Gophers as a track and field sprinter while working towards his Bachelors of Arts in Communication Studies. He is currently attending school and working towards his Masters of Teaching to become a high school physics teacher. Coach Austin has worked many childcare jobs throughout his late teen and adult life including preschool teacher, nanny, vacation bible school group leader, and babysitter. In addition, he has been the boys and girls sprints track and field coach at Hopkins Highschool for the past 5 years. Coach Austin is excited to bring his love of soccer and coaching together with his passion for developing and mentoring children. He is looking forward to helping provide amazing experiences for the Soccer Shots athletes!
Coach Sarah grew up in Lino Lakes, Minnesota and now resides St. Louis Park with her kitten, Remy. She began playing soccer for Centennial Soccer Club when she was nine years old and continued to play throughout high school. Sarah stopped playing soccer competitively when she went to college at University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!), where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Neurobiology. Since graduating college, Sarah has been fortunate to travel Europe, work for AmeriCorps at an Easterseals Wisconsin camp, and live in Austin, Texas for one year. She is now working as a medical scribe, with the goal of attending medical school in the future. Sarah can’t wait to share her Saturday mornings with her new friends at Soccer Shots!
Coach Becca grew up in Albertville, MN and currently resides in Eagan, MN. She started playing soccer at age 9 and she played until high school. In high school she realized her passion for children and teaching was in her future. So she made the choice to coach youth soccer for the St. Michael-Albertville United soccer club and ended up coaching all the way through college. She went to the University of St. Thomas and graduated with a double major in elementary education and psychology. In 2016 she received her first teaching position at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School in Brooklyn park, MN and has been the kindergarten teacher there for 4 years now. She realized she was missing her love for soccer and coaching these last few years so she is very excited to begin her next coaching adventure with soccer shots. Her and her husband love to go biking, frisbee golfing, and lifting weights at the gym. Her passion in life is to inspire kids to love to learn and encourage them to try new things and coaching soccer is another way to help make that happen.
Coach Tim grew up in Sugar Land, TX where he started playing soccer when he was 7 years old. Before moving to St Paul, he has lived in Colorado and Illinois where he got his coaching career established. Coach Tim’s first experience working with kids was in summer camp, where the kids played games all day every day. He loved being a positive role model for the kids and having fun with them while playing sports. From there, he naturally got into coaching soccer and has worked with boys and girls at all ages. He also coaches for Minnesota Thunder Academy and the Anoka-Ramsey Women’s team. Coach Tim appreciates the many challenges and life lessons that soccer teaches kids, but they need to have fun at the same time! Tim sees challenges working with kids at every age, and the coach is responsible to work hard to understand the kids and get the best out of them in every session. In his free time, he likes to play pickup soccer, exercise, and roast coffee!
Coach Rita grew up in Roseville, MN and currently resides in Eagan. She started playing soccer at the age of 8 and continued playing throughout school. Her favorite position on the field was goalkeeper because she liked having control of the game. She attended The College of Saint Benedict where she played club soccer and obtained a degree in English Secondary Education. Now, she is a middle school English Teacher in Minneapolis. She enjoys being active outside, spending quality time with her husband, and reading a good book. Rita loves working with youth and is very excited to teach little minds new things, especially when a soccer ball at their feet!
Coach Maddie grew up in Toledo Ohio and graduated from Miami Univeristy with a Bachelors in Kinesiology and Biology. She currently attends school at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington where she is studying to become a doctor of Chiropractic. She has played soccer all her life and it quickly became her favorite sport, loving it so much she even coached her younger siblings soccer team for years! She played club soccer through college and she hopes to share her passion and enthusiasm for soccer with kids as they grow and develop their skills. In her free time, Coach Maddie likes to spend time hiking with her dog and exploring Minnesota!
Coach Hannah was born and raised in Minnesota and played soccer from a child all through high school. She graduated from UW-River Falls with a Sport and Exercise Science degree.
Hannah loves being active and being around children! She is a full time preschool teacher as well and a Soccer Shots coach. Hannah is really looking forward to getting back to the game she loves so much and growing with all of the children as they learn soccer!
Coach Corin is from Minneapolis, MN. She loves soccer and has been playing since she could walk! She was even lucky enough to attend the last two Women’s World Cup Tournaments in Canada and France! Coach Corin is a first-grade teacher with a Masters of Education. When she isn’t teaching or playing soccer, you can find her playing with her two dogs, Winston and Georgia. Coach Corin is excited to share her love for soccer with her Soccer Shots friends!
Coach Courtney grew up in Wisconsin, but has resided in Minneapolis, MN for the last five years. Following in her older sister’s footsteps, Courtney fell in love with sports and began playing soccer at the age of four. For the following 15 years, she continued to enjoy soccer at a competitive level with her team remaining undefeated in their league for several seasons! Courtney has also enjoyed working with children as a summer nanny and an after-school tutor. With dozens of younger cousins, she has found a passion in being a positive role model to children. In her spare time, Courtney is learning how to play the guitar!
Coach Ava Rose
Coach Ava was born in Maplewood, MN and currently resides in Inver Grove Heights, MN. She has played soccer for almost 9 years. She started playing for the North East Soccer Association and finished at The Fire Soccer Club. She graduated at Simley High school in 2020 and is currently a first year at St. Catherine’s University studying biology. She hopes to become a Physician Assistant for young kids. On her free time she likes to explore the world, spend time with family and friends, and learn new things everyday. She loves to inspire other people which makes her have a positive impact on others as a coach. Soccer is her life and she is excited to share it with others through Soccer Shots.
Coach Rachael grew up in Woodbury, Minnesota. She ran cross country and track & field in high school, and continued to compete during her first year of college. Coach Rachael graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with her bachelors degree in K-12 Special Education. She is currently working at an elementary school, and enjoys supporting students to help them succeed. During the summer you can find her working at the YMCA as a camp counselor. Coach Rachael also volunteers as a Unified Partner in the sport of bocce ball through the Special Olympics of MN. Staying active and creating an inclusive environment are very important to Coach Rachael and she’s thrilled to continue to do so through Soccer Shots!
Coach Hunter grew up in Minneapolis and currently resides there. He started playing soccer at the age of five and played club soccer up until U11. He also played varsity soccer in Iowa where they were undefeated two consecutive years and played in two state championships.
He graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University Marshall, MN with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science. From there, he is currently applying his knowledge as an Exercise Therapist alongside a chiropractor helping patients overcoming their injury.
When he is not coaching and helping patients, he enjoys spending time with family, playing sports, exercising, fishing, camping, and hiking.
Coach Eidan was born and raised in Bloomington, Minnesota, and currently attends the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities where he is working towards a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Public Health. Next fall he will be part of the university’s graduate program studying for a Master of Public Policy. Eidan has volunteered with multiple childcare programs where he learned how awesome children are, and how fulfilling it can be to play a positive role in their development. He’s also played soccer since he was three, so he jumped at the opportunity to coach a new generation of soccer stars!
Coach Enzo grew up in Saint Paul, MN. Enzo has over 5 years of coaching experience! Traveling soccer, rec soccer, club soccer, and High school Soccer.
He played for Saint Paul Blackhawks growing up and then all 4 years at Highland Park Senior High school. Enzo still plays and can’t get enough of the game! He likes to watch soccer games and hangout with friends in his spare time.
Coach Enzo is very excited to continue his journey of soccer through coaching the next generation of soccer players!
Scott grew up in Scotland and played youth and semi-professional soccer before moving to the USA to coach youth soccer full time. He has been coaching for 30 years and holds various USSF, USC and UEFA coaching qualifications as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Coaching Performance and an associate degree in Sports Coaching and Development. Scott has held various coaching positions in MN at the high school and youth levels including 18 years as a club director of coaching and currently works full time as the youth director for EPSC. When not coaching soccer he enjoys travelling with his family, watching sports, hiking and biking.
Coach Jacob grew up in Cincinnati, OH and started playing soccer when he was 3 years old. Unable to decide between soccer and cross country, Jacob did both in high school in addition to running track. He’s been at home in Minnesota since 2013. Jacob holds a teaching license in K-12 English as a Second Language and currently teaches in a high school. He also has experience working with younger students. In addition to his teaching, Jacob is a high school track and cross country coach. Jacob ran in college and continues to run (and occasionally compete) today. He also enjoys pickup soccer, cooking, and working in his garden. He has traveled around parts of Europe and Latin America and is fluent in Spanish. He is excited to share his passion for soccer with every child he works with!
Josh grew up in the Twin Cities area and enjoyed sports, primarily basketball and distance running. He began coaching basketball through the Minneapolis parks in 2008, and then coached basketball, ultimate frisbee, and cross country at the International School of Minnesota for 11 years while working as an aide and administrator. He has played rec league soccer for the past six years, and plays pickup basketball whenever possible! Josh has a B.A. in geography from the University of Minnesota and is interested in gardening, food systems, and sustainable agriculture
Coach Bryce grew up with his parents and three sisters in the suburbs of Minneapolis. Soccer has been one of his many lifelong passions ever since he started playing it at age 5. He played center-midfield for Centennial H.S. and Bethel University. Besides soccer his other passions include playing with his 5-year-old daughter, working with children to help them become the best version of themselves, and TRAVELING! During his formal education he studied abroad in Chile, Egypt, Russia, and Uzbekistan. Bryce graduated in 2008 with a BA in political science and international relations. Afterwards he moved to Africa where he taught social studies, world history, and coached soccer. He played semi-professionally in Nigeria and coached a Moroccan high school team to 3 national championships. The next few years he continued his career as an educator and soccer coach in the Philippines and Costa Rica. In 2015 he returned to Minnesota to complete a MA in educational leadership and earn his principal licensure. He served as a teacher and assistant principal in North Minneapolis until deciding to take a break from teaching when students switched to distance learning during the pandemic. After traveling to almost 100 countries he is using his time away from teaching to write a travel memoir and expand his tourism company. He is excited to keep his foot in the game by continuing to play and coach – 1, 2, 3, Soccer Shots! 🙂
Coach Emily grew up in the Twin Cities, playing soccer from the age of 5 onwards. After graduating from college, she moved to Boston where she coached soccer for children ages 12 months to 5 years on the weekends and worked in publishing as a project manager during the week. After five years, Emily decided she wanted to work with kids full time, so she moved back to Minnesota to pursue her MEd in Early Childhood Education at the University of Minnesota.
When not on the field or in class, Emily likes to go for runs, work in her mom’s garden, and get lost in a good book.
Coach Hannah grew up in Chanhassen, Minnesota, but currently lives in Victoria, Minnesota. She started playing soccer at the age of 5 and has loved it ever since! Hannah graduated from Purdue University and has a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology. She has experience being a soccer ref and nannying kids in the summer. In her free time, she likes to stay active by going on hikes, boating in the summer, and biking. Hannah is excited to coach soccer!
Coach Tialy was born and raised in the Twin Cities and will be attending St. Catherine University in Fall 2021 to pursue a healthcare-focused degree. Tialy was introduced to soccer before elementary school as it was a great part of her family’s hobbies. She would attend her older brother’s practices and eventually attended her own. She grew to love everything about the sport. Tialy has experience working with children as she was a math tutor at an elementary school. She has a passion for educating the youth and providing them with a great foundation to become lifelong learners.
Coach Nicole grew up in Maple Grove, MN and currently resides in Lake Elmo, MN. She started playing soccer at an early age and continued to play all the way through high school. She played collegiate rugby at St.Cloud State, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. She then moved out to Ann Arbor, MI and was an athletic trainer for Eastern Michigan University’s Football team. Her and her husband and two daughters love participating in all sorts of sports and camping. She has been able to see the positive impact sports has had on many kids and her own through the soccer shots program.
Coach Ethan grew up in beautiful Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He moved to the Twin Cities in 2013 to attend school at the University of Minnesota and has been living in Minneapolis since graduating in 2017 with a degree in Geography. He works full time for the City of Minneapolis: Public Works but couldn’t miss the opportunity to spend some of his free time having fun coaching youth soccer. After working as a swim lesson teacher for many years he wanted to continue working with kids and giving back to the community here in the Twin Cities.
Ethan started playing soccer in middle school and continued on to be the starting goalie in high school and playing with friends on intramural teams in college. It has been his favorite sport to play due to its fast paced and exciting nature. Playing soccer gave him a great appreciation for the World Cup and every four years he enjoys cheering on his ancestral roots, the Netherlands. Outside of soccer he enjoys playing tennis, basketball, biking, and cross country skiing with friends.
Coach Amy grew up in Lakeville, MN. Amy enjoys yoga, running, hiking, and paddleboarding. She has worked with kids for 20+yrs in a variety of different areas. She has a early childhood degree, was a nanny for 16yrs & business owner of in-home daycare for 15yrs. She looks forward to working the children & families at Soccer Shots
Coach Ryan grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota and is currently studying at the University of Minnesota to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy. He has played soccer for over 20 years and has coached for 4. In his spare time, Ryan likes to play soccer, enjoy nature, and play video games. His favorite animal is his dog, Levi.
Coach Chloe was raised in Prescott, Wisconsin, and now attends college in the Twin Cities. She participated in many sports growing up; she’s played football, soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball, swam competitively, ran competitively, is an avid snowboarder, and enjoys rock climbing! After participating in several sports, Coach Chloe has found that the most influential aspects of athletics are not the amount of wins or trophies an athlete acquires, but rather the lessons they learn and they fun that they have! The camaraderie and friendships formed between teammates, the development of valuable communication and problem-solving skills, and the appreciation for learning new concepts are all lessons that can be applied both on and off the field. Coach Chloe cannot wait to meet your players, teach some soccer, and have loads of fun!
Coach Logan was raised in Hopkins, MN. He started playing soccer as a young boy after watching the 2014 World Cup and since then has never stopped. He played club and high school throughout his schooling and now after graduating high school has started to coach. He chose to coach youth soccer because of his experience with kids as a camp counselor. Coach Logan loves the values that soccer teaches like integrity, sportsmanship and discipline, and tries to pass those values into the players he coaches. At soccer shots, Logan’s passion is to help kids to grow as players and people!
Coach Doni was born and raised in Adelaide, Australia. He started watching soccer from a young age and began playing for clubs and schools when he was 12. At the age of 20, Doni was asked to coach his 7yo cousin’s school team. It was then that he found a passion for coaching and teaching children. Since moving to Minnesota in 2015, Doni has spent time working for Disney Cruise Line and Valleyfair as a host, while also being a substitute elementary school teacher with an emphasis in dance and theater. Doni’s passion for soccer has never changed and he is thrilled to be joining the Soccer Shots team as a coach!
Catherine grew up in Blaine, MN. She stared playing soccer at 4 years old and fell in love with it. She enjoyed playing with her younger sister throughout the years. After an ACL injury she stopped playing, but still loves the sport dearly and wants to share her passion for soccer with our future soccer players at soccer shots!
Born and raised in Edina, MN, Coach Anne grew up in a soccer-loving family. Having enjoyed the sport since she was five years old, Coach Anne has played for various associations around the world, including the competitive Edina High School soccer teams and Durham University women’s football club in northern England. Enthusiastic and compassionate, Coach Anne is excited to pair her love for early education and soccer as a Soccer Shots coach. During her off hours, you can find Coach Anne painting, reading, and enjoying the outdoors with her family and friends
Coach Loo ( lotfi) was born and raised in the rabat region of Morocco. He started practicing soccer from a very young age. In Morocco, soccer comes first and then other things comes afterwards. He played for his schools throughout his academic journey and practiced soccer with his fellow friends in the streets. Coach Loo’s love for coaching came to light when he started assisting one of his acquaintances in coaching young kids in a competitive small league back in his city. Coach Loo got very happy that he could explain and deliver soccer skills without any difficulties, it felt natural to him. One of coach’s Loo dreams is to become a gym teacher and impact kids in our community through sport. Coach Loo moved to the United states only a year ago to join his family and was looking for an opportunity like this to do something he loves!
Coach Elise grew up in Stillwater playing competitive soccer. She recently moved back to Minnesota after graduating from University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA with a degree in psychology and business administration. She is passionate about youth sports, performance, and health. Coach Elise loves anything active including hiking, downhill skiing, running, playing with her dogs, and spending time at her cabin. She nannied and coached soccer during her summers in Washington, and is excited to be back at Soccer Shots.
Coach Michelle grew up in Stillwater, MN. She played club and school soccer throughout her childhood and high school years, and enjoys playing intramural soccer at UW-Madison! Michelle loves being outside and some of her favorite hobbies (besides playing soccer) include hiking, going for runs with her dog, and spending quality time with friends and family! She is passionate about getting kids involved in soccer and is excited to coach for Soccer Shots.
Coach Julian was born in Madison WI, but grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia PA. He has been playing soccer since he was 6 years old, and it is still one of his big passions to this day, as well as working with kids! Julian got his bachelors of science in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota Twin cities, and will be attending St. Catherine university in the fall for his doctorate of physical therapy.
Coach Seth has had a love for soccer his whole life and has played since he was 5 years old. He was raised in Tennessee for most of his childhood until relocating to Minneapolis in 2013. As a child he had a few coaches that were large influences on him and with that experience he decided he might like to give back to other children. So in his first season he is hoping to show kids a good time and help them fall in love with the sport like he did. When he is not coaching or playing soccer he also enjoys fly fishing, woodworking, biking, and golfing.
Coach Lily was born and raised in South Minneapolis. Her passion for soccer began at the age of five and she played throughout high school. She has experience nannying, coaching recreational soccer, and reffing traveling soccer. Outside of soccer, Coach Lily loves to be outdoors, spend time with her two dogs, and play basketball.
