Stories of Impact

Every day, we hear stories from parents and coaches telling us how Soccer Shots has impacted children’s lives. Please read some of our Stories of Impact, and use the form below to tell us your Soccer Shots story.

I love everything about this program!

Coach Raman’s enthusiasm and her child-friendly instructions keep such a young age engaged in soccer! My 3-year-old has improved so much with controlling the soccer ball. What I enjoyed the most about Coach Raman was how she teaches the children important core values – like confidence and respect. I can even remind my daughter at home to turn on her “listening ears – click click!” I love that Soccer Shots awards a “Player of the Week” to acknowledge all of the children’s hard work. I highly recommend Soccer Shots for any child aged 2-8 – I love everything about this program!

“The kids and parents smile the whole time”

“This is the first year my son Logan has played any team sports. He’s always had an issue with not winning or being first so I was nervous to put him in a situation where that could occur. I am so thankful I chose Soccer Shots. Logan has done incredible and has shown tons of team spirit always cheering “go friends go.” Logan is super excited every weekend to get to the field. His coach is such a natural with the kids, constantly joking and being light-hearted. The coach makes the kids and parents smile the whole time and is so good with them when they get upset or hurt! We will continue with Soccer Shots and would recommend them to anyone thinking of putting their kids in soccer!”

Crafted to teach great messages

This is our first time with Soccer Shots and we are thrilled! Our son wasn't a fan of soccer but the coaches are so great, fun and engaging. He loves going each week to have fun with his friends and to play fun games. Each week is crafted to teach great messages and skills. Well worth the money, you get jerseys and balls and treats for the kids. I'll say again, the coaches are amazing and we will for sure be enrolling in more events!

Coaches helped my son open up around new people

My son just had his first session on Wednesday and he loved it!! He is very shy and has a hard time opening up around new people, but with the help of his amazing coaches, he opened up within minutes! I’ve never seen him get that comfortable that fast. Not only was he participating, but the coaches had him doing the airplane and a dance! He’s been asking to go back every day. Made this momma tear up seeing her baby so happy – Thank you!

Promotes positivity, kindness, respect and fun!

Watching my son in action at Soccer Shots FV has been something we look forward to each week! Since his first practice in the Spring, he’s already learned so much! This awesome program teaches young kids to not only listen to the coach, but to believe in themselves, and always try their best! Soccer Shots Fraser Valley promotes positivity, kindness, respect, friendship, and fun! I’ll never forget the smile on his face when he brought home that “player of the week” certificate! He was so proud!

My son learned more than I thought possible

I really loved that the clinics were held at the daycare. My husband and I work full time, so a lot of activities for this age range cannot be attended as they are held during the day. This allowed my son to participate in an activity that he otherwise would not have been able to attend. The coaches were fantastic and related very well to the preschoolers. I also liked that each visit had a theme of kindness or respect. My son learned SO much more than I thought possible and he enjoyed every minute of it.

Great communication with parents

This was my 2.5-year-olds first activity and we loved it! Coach Jess did an awesome job with all of the kids and I was really impressed that she knew all of the kids' names on the first day when they came to the session! Each week Coach Jess reviewed the skills from weeks prior and helped see the progress my kiddo is making. Soccer shots has had great communication with the parents. Overall we give them a 5/5.

A Sense of Compassion

“As a mother of a child on the Autism Spectrum, Soccer Shots not only brought physical activity to our family but a sense of compassion, team work, and responsibility, all which are core values we are working towards instilling in our children. I was very proud of my little player and his coach every week when I watched from the sideline.”

Improved Gross Motor Skills

“Just wanted to drop a note and thank you for having Soccer Shots at Lakeside this spring. My daughter has well developed fine motor skills. However, her gross motor skills are not where they should be. She is very timid about her body and doesn’t even like to jump with both feet off the floor. While we (my husband and myself) are pretty sure why her gross motor skills are so lacking, we are having her tested to confirm.

Meanwhile, we have seen a great advancement in her running, balance and overall physical confidence (she now will join in roughhousing with her cousins), since participating in Soccer Shots! It gives us some measure of hope that she will be able to overcome her issues. So again, thank you!”

Reaching and Connecting With Children

“The first time attending a Soccer Shots class can be a little intimidating for any child, and for this particular little girl, it seemed to be overwhelming. At the first Soccer Shots class, the teacher informed me that she would not be likely to participate. After hearing this, I made a personal goal for myself that I would attempt to reach her even if just for a moment of the class.

During the first class I made effort to connect with her and place the ball at her feet so she could join if she felt comfortable. When it was time to score a goal, the class was so excited and she really wanted to participate. She stood by the goal and kicked the ball back out for each child. Then it was her turn. The class clapped and cheered as she kicked the ball into the net. It was a great achievement for the day, but the smile and high five that followed brought an even bigger joy.

After the class the teacher was very impressed and thought it was amazing that she participated and enjoyed the class. It was great to hear this feedback, but this class was just the start and I had a strong motivation to make Soccer Shots a fulfilling experience for this little girl.”
