Meet The Coaches

We are proud to have the best coaches in youth soccer.

Jen Cairns

Owner/Executive Director

Jen grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and moved back to the area a few years ago with her husband and two children.  Soccer has always been a big part of her life.  Her high school soccer team won a Wisconsin state championship.  She was a team captain and played Division I soccer at the University at Albany.  She has a U.S. Soccer National D License.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Communications, an associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy and a master’s degree in Sports Management.

Jen has over 15 years of coaching experience working with children of all ages.  She launched Soccer Shots Madison in the fall of 2019.  She is excited and passionate about the opportunity to bring Soccer Shots to the area she grew up in.  Jen’s goal is to positively impact the lives of children.  She is dedicated to deliver a fun and memorable experience for every child through the awesome game of soccer!

 

Coach Andy

Site Supervisor/Lead Coach

Coach Andy was raised in Madison WI.  He comes from a soccer family, his father and cousin were some of the founding members of the Madison 56er’s soccer club.  Coach Andy has been playing soccer since age 12 and played varsity all four years in high school and was on the undefeated MATC team for several years before graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Communications.  Coach Andy has coached children of all ages from preschool to high school.  He has also coached soccer for various local soccer clubs for 25 years and was Coaching Director for Verona Area Soccer Club.  Coach Andy is excited for the opportunity to be part of the Soccer Shots team and help youth develop their skills for future success.  When Andy is not coaching, he enjoys photography, barbecuing, playing euchre and hanging out with family and friends.

Coach Jaclyn

Site Supervisor/Lead Coach

Coach Jaclyn is from Crystal Lake, IL.  She started playing soccer when she was six years old.   She played through high school and still plays for a recreational league here in Madison.  Coach Jaclyn has experience working in child-care and has worked as a nanny for several families.  Her love for children and for soccer led her right to Soccer Shots Madison!  Coach Jaclyn’s favorite thing about Soccer Shots is building connections with each child she coaches and watching them grow more confident each season.

Coach Rachel

Site Supervisor/Lead Coach

Coach Rachel grew up in Janesville, WI and began playing soccer at the age of four.  She continued to play club soccer through Milton Soccer Club, and played for Janesville Craig in high school.  She recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Coach Rachel loves working with youth, and is excited to be a part of the Soccer Shots team.  In her free time, you can find her doing various outdoor activities, including fishing, hiking, and swimming

Coach Ian

Coach Ian recently graduated from UW Eau-Claire.  He loves playing sports. He played both basketball and soccer throughout High School.  He also has experience coaching a variety of youth sports.  He is excited to a part of the Soccer Shots team.

Coach Veronica

Coach Veronica

Site Supervisor/Lead Coach

Coach Veronica grew up in Schamburg, IL, and began playing soccer when she was six years old.  She played club soccer in elementary school and later played for her high school’s team.  In high school, she coached soccer and gymnastics for the Special Olympics for three years.  She also has experience working as an after-school camp counselor and a nanny.  Coach Veronica loves working with kids!  In December 2021, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a major in Biology and hopes to attend dental school in the future.  Coach Veronica says that her favorite part about coaching with Soccer Shots is being able to see how much the children improve from week to week.

Coach Grace

Coach Grace is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying Communication Sciences and Disorders.  Grace has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old.  Her favorite team that she was a part of was her High School Team.  She loved the incredible close bond her team had and is sure that this bond played a key role in her team’s success.   Her favorite part of coaching with Soccer Shots is seeing the children start to really enjoy the game that she loves so much.  When she is not coaching, you can find Coach Grace going on walks, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Coach Norah

Coach Norah

Coach Norah grew up in Madison WI, and recently graduated from La Follette High School, where she was the captain of the Girls Varsity Soccer Team. Norah plans to attend Madison Area Technical College in the fall to study Environmental Science and Renewable Energy. She has grown up around soccer and has been playing for as long as she can remember, playing for clubs and then in high school. Coach Norah’s favorite part about Soccer Shots is how the children can surprise her with their skills, and she is very passionate about seeing more and more kids get involved with soccer, and having positive experiences with the sport! Outside of coaching, Norah enjoys movie nights with her friends, playing instruments, spending time outside and playing video games!

Coach Natalie

Coach Natalie grew up in Inver Grove Heights, MN, where she began playing soccer at five years old. She played club soccer throughout her life and played for her high school team, creating many fond memories with teammates along the way! Coach Natalie recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Coach Natalie enjoys working with Soccer Shots and loves the youthful energy and resilience that the children bring to each session! Outside of Soccer Shots, Coach Natalie loves spending time outdoors, reading books, listening to music, and playing cards.

Coach Aly

Coach Aly

Aly is from Chicago, IL and is a sophomore at UW-Madison studying Psychology. She played soccer all throughout her childhood and high school, and has loved being able to get back on the field with Soccer Shots! Aly loves working with kids, in addition to coaching she has experience working as a camp counselor. In her free time, she likes to read, explore Madison, and spend time with her friends and family.

Coach Adam

Coach Adam

Coach Adam is from Greenwood, Indiana but has lived in Madison for the past several years as he graduated with a Masters in mechanical engineering from UW-Madison in 2021. Adam started playing soccer when he was 7 years old and hasn’t stopped playing since. The highest level Adam competed at was on the club level during his undergraduate studies at Murray State University. These days you can find him playing in adult leagues around Madison.  Outside of soccer, Adam loves to go hiking with his dogs, playing the guitar, and watching his favorite sports teams.

His favorite aspect of Soccer Shots is having an opportunity to share his passion for soccer with kids through a fun and engaging curriculum!

Coach Brandon

Coach Brandon

Coach Brandon grew up in the Madison Area and has been involved with soccer for most of his life. In addition to playing for Verona SC and Oregon, Brandon played four years and was captain at Madison Edgewood High School. Brandon has also been involved in soccer locally as a USSF Grade 8 soccer official and has refereed for over 10 years. Brandon recently graduated from Miami University with a major in Marketing and a double minor in Business Analytics and Spanish before returning back to Madison.

His favorite part about Soccer Shots is seeing the sport of soccer, which has given him so many fond memories and lifetime friendships, instilled in the next generation of kids! When he’s not coaching, he enjoys avidly following the English Premier League, reading, and exploring all that Madison has to offer!

Coach Toni

Coach Toni grew up in Madison and recently moved back after spending the past four years in Seattle, where she mentored youth navigating the foster care system. She comes from a soccer-loving family, and started playing at 4 years old. She graduated UW-Madison in 2018 with a degree in Human Development & Family Studies and a minor in Environmental Studies. She has been fortunate to work with communities in various capacities, from completing two AmeriCorps service terms, to working as a camp counselor at various summer camps in the past.

Her favorite part about coaching with Soccer Shots is seeing kids outside, having fun while also challenging themselves to learn something new!

Coach Novalee

Coach Novalee grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  She started playing soccer when she was six years old and played through high school and intramurals in college.  She loves working with kids, has coached youth soccer & basketball previously.  She recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Kinesiology & Athletic Healthcare) and plans to continue her education in Physical Therapy.  Outside of coaching, Novalee enjoys hiking, the gym and watching movies with friends.

Her favorite part about coaching with Soccer Shots is that she loves to see how the children improve over the season and the excitement they bring to each session!
