Jen grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and recently moved back to the area with her husband and two children. Soccer has always been a big part of her life. Her high school soccer team won a Wisconsin state championship. She was a team captain and played Division I soccer at the University at Albany. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications, an associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy and a master’s degree in Sports Management.
Jen has over 15 years of coaching experience working with children of all ages. She launched Soccer Shots Madison in the fall of 2019. She is excited and passionate about the opportunity to bring Soccer Shots to the area she grew up in. Jen’s goal is to positively impact the lives of children. She is dedicated to deliver a fun and memorable experience for every child through the awesome game of soccer!
Coach Lauren is a student at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is majoring Psychology. She began playing soccer as a field player but switched to goalkeeper when she was 11. She still enjoys playing field positions and likes practicing juggling and the step-over move. When she’s not coaching or studying, she likes to hike around Wisconsin with her friends. She also enjoys watching the English Premier League with her dad. Her favorite part about coaching is seeing confidence grow in each soccer friend from developing new soccer skills and just having fun!
Coach Andy was raised in Madison WI. He comes from a soccer family, his father and cousin were some of the founding members of the Madison 56er’s soccer club. Coach Andy has been playing soccer since age 12 and played varsity all four years in high school and was on the undefeated MATC team for several years before graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Communications. Coach Andy has coached children of all ages from preschool to high school. He has also coached soccer for various local soccer clubs for 25 years and was Coaching Director for Verona Area Soccer Club. Coach Andy is excited for the opportunity to be part of the Soccer Shots team and help youth develop their skills for future success. When Andy is not coaching, he enjoys photography, barbecuing, playing euchre and hanging out with family and friends.
Coach Jaclyn is from Crystal Lake, IL. She started playing soccer when she was six years old. She played through high school and still plays for a recreational league here in Madison. Coach Jaclyn has experience working in child-care and has worked as a nanny for several families. Her love for children and for soccer led her right to Soccer Shots Madison! Coach Jaclyn’s favorite thing about Soccer Shots is building connections with each child she coaches and watching them grow more confident each season.
Coach Kenny is currently a Physical Education teacher at Sherman Middle School. He grew up on the east side of Madison and graduated from UW-Stevens Point in 2020. Growing up he played lots of sports. In his free time he enjoys playing video games, hanging out with friends and family, and playing sports like bowling, disc golf and Ultimate. He is super excited to be coaching and being a part of Soccer Shots.
Coach Rachel grew up in Janesville, WI and began playing soccer at the age of four. She continued to play club soccer through Milton Soccer Club, and played for Janesville Craig in high school. She currently attends the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Education, with a plan to become a School Psychologist. Coach Rachel loves working with youth, and is excited to be a part of the Soccer Shots team. In her free time, you can find her doing various outdoor activities, including fishing, hiking, and swimming
Coach Veronica grew up in Schamburg, IL, and began playing soccer when she was six years old. She played club soccer in elementary school and later played for her high school’s team. In high school, she coached soccer and gymnastics for the Special Olympics for three years. She also has experience working as an after-school camp counselor and a nanny. Coach Veronica loves working with kids! In December 2021, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a major in Biology and hopes to attend dental school in the future. Coach Veronica says that her favorite part about coaching with Soccer Shots is being able to see how much the children improve from week to week.
Coach Mark is from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is currently a student at UW-Madison studying Environmental Science and Education and he hopes to become a high school science teacher. He started playing soccer at age four and played until 15. For the past few summers, he was a camp counselor in Michigan and absolutely loved working with youth and watching them grow. If you catch him outside of Soccer Shots, he is always outdoors adventuring, running, playing disc golf and skiing (usually during the winter). He has had a blast being a part of Soccer Shots and he enjoys seeing the children have fun and improve their skills each season!
