Mike Bono – Owner & Executive Director
Mike grew up on the North Shore of Boston. His passion for coaching and strong belief that sports are a great way to teach life skills led him to Soccer Shots.
Mike has coached a diverse group of sports and children over the years including youth soccer, baseball, softball and basketball as well as Special Olympics Soccer, Special Olympics Basketball and Little League Challenger Baseball.
Mike believes sports provide a valuable opportunity to teach children life lessons, regardless of their ability, while also developing their social, motor and academic skills. His goal with Soccer Shots is to positively influence and contribute to the overall development of children through the game of soccer.
Mike has a B.S. in Business Management from Babson College. He and his wife, Brittney, live in North Andover, MA with their three children, Anna, Jonathan and Mia and their dog Ivy.
Cherelle Anderson – Operations Director
Cherelle grew up in Barrington, NH, where she discovered her love for playing soccer in the local town recreation team. She continued to play at every opportunity including on numerous club teams and continued to play throughout college. Cherelle attended New England College where she received her Bachelor’s degree with honors in Kinesiology.
In 2019, Cherelle joined Soccer Shots as a coach bringing with her a true passion for the sport as well as a strong background working with children in a variety of settings including coach, mentor and camp counselor.
She believes that Soccer Shots is a unique and important program that gives children experiences and opportunities that go far beyond “soccer island”. Cherelle has seen the impact of the program firsthand as a coach watching children become more determined, confident, work as a team and yes, become really good at those soccer skills and play in scrimmages.
In her spare time, you’ll see Cherelle out on “the pitch” playing soccer, spending time with family, friends and of course hanging out with her 2 dogs, Sherlock & Georgie, teaching them new tricks…. including playing soccer of course, as well as snowboarding, hiking, and anything to do with the outdoors.
Julian Brosi – Coaching Director
Julian graduated from Elms College in 2021 where he received his Bachelor’s degree in History and Educational studies. While at Elms, Julian was a goalkeeper for the Elms College soccer team.
At home, Julian’s primary language is German as both his parents are from Germany. Any German parents feel free to talk German with him!!
Outside of soccer, Julian loves learning about history and researching various topics, but his main passion is soccer. He also coaches club soccer with the Fellsway Wanderers.
Julian loves that Soccer Shots teaches character development words because he believes these words will help children throughout their life. His favorite word of the day is ‘sportsmanship’ because “it teaches the children how to be respectful while playing sports or in any competition”. Julian’s favorite skill to teach on Soccer Island is big kicks because “it gets the children excited about scoring goals which is everyone’s favorite part of soccer (and that’s coming from a former goalkeeper)”.
According to Julian, “The best part of Soccer Shots is the children don’t even know that they are learning because they are having so much fun!”

The History of Soccer Shots
Our founding partners, Jeremy Sorzano and Jason Webb, were soccer teammates both in college and professionally. They formed Soccer Shots® in 1997 after recognizing a lack of quality soccer programs for children under age 8. They shared an entrepreneurial spirit, a deep love of soccer, and a passion to inspire children to live fit and healthy lives.
The success of Soccer Shots in Charlotte, NC and Harrisburg, PA, where Sorzano and Webb first launched their businesses, led to several of their friends and former teammates wanting to get involved. In 2005, Soccer Shots began franchising and opened its first four franchises in OH, DE, FL, and PA. The business opportunity began to attract more soccer entrepreneurs, and Soccer Shots has enjoyed growing around the country and into Canada.
In May of 2009, Justin Bredeman, another former college soccer teammate, became the third Soccer Shots partner. Justin brought with him eight years of experience from Auntie Anne’s, Inc., a pretzel franchising company, where he led a team that supported nearly 800 franchise units. His deep understanding of the franchise business model also comes from the knowledge gained from his five years of owning and running a Soccer Shots business of his own.
From its humble beginnings, Soccer Shots has grown beyond Jeremy and Jason’s biggest dreams, with over 200 territories across 37 states and Canada. There were over 440,000 enrollments into Soccer Shots programming in 2018.
The business is consistently recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the #1 Children’s Fitness Franchise in the U.S. And today, Soccer Shots is positioned as the best-in-class children’s soccer program with a focus on character development.
And while the accolades are appreciated, our mission remains focused – positively impacting children’s lives.
Soccer Shots Franchising, LLC is based in central Pennsylvania, just east of Harrisburg. Learn more about franchising with Soccer Shots at soccershotsfranchising.com.
