Where can my child participate in Soccer Shots?

Soccer Shots is held at childcare centers, preschools and schools, as well as public locations. Our public programs are open to the general public while our childcare center and school programs are only open to those enrolled at the location.

What type of equipment will my child need to participate?

Soccer Shots provides all of the equipment needed at each of our sessions. Your child should wear activity-appropriate clothing. Cleats and shin guards are NOT necessary.

How do I know the locations of the park programs?

Can I have Soccer Shots start a park program near me?

Yes! We are always willing to start a public program near you. The easiest way for this to happen is for you to form a group of eight children willing to take part in a Soccer Shots season. These could be children from your neighborhood, friends from church or synagogue, or your parent groups. We're happy to help talk through ideas on how to make this happen. Please contact your local director for more information.

What can I expect from a Soccer Shots session?

Our weekly 30-40 minute sessions focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. Through fun games and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork and appreciation.

What happens if a session is cancelled due to inclement weather?

Soccer Shots attempts to make up all missed sessions during the course of a season. We will either add an additional week to the season or choose a make-up day.

How do I know if a session is cancelled due to in inclement weather?

In the case of inclement weather, Soccer Shots will notify you of any cancelations and make up sessions. We generally try to notify you of cancelations at least 2 hours before the start of the session.

What are the weather guidelines for Soccer Shots Greater St. Louis?

The safety of our players, their families and our coaching team comes first, always. If lightning is detected within 6-10 miles of our field location, play is suspended and/or canceled. We play in light rain/precip if the field is open and we are within playable temperature range. We do not play in heavy rain or in cases where wet fields might cause safety concerns. When the heat index is between 80-90 degrees, we play. When the heat index is between 90-105 degrees, we play and increase water/rest breaks during each session. When the heat index is 106 or above, we do not play. When the cold index with wind chill is at 20 degrees or below, we do not play. If the cold index with wind chill is above 20 degrees, we play. Players and coaches are asked to dress for cold weather, including base layer, coat, hat and gloves.

Who will be working with my child at Soccer Shots?

All Soccer Shots sessions and services are performed by trained and authorized employees of Soccer Shots Greater St. Louis. Soccer Shots Greater St. Louis is a Missouri VECHS qualified entity, authorized pursuant to the National Child Protection Act, as amended. In addition to training and certification on the Soccer Shots curriculum, all Soccer Shots Greater St. Louis employees have been verified as eligible to provide care to children through the Missouri VECHS program and the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR).

What are the payment policies for Soccer Shots Greater St. Louis?

Payment for Soccer Shots programming and related fees is due upon enrollment. Split payment options may be available. Review additional information regarding payment policies and split pay plans during the checkout process.

When will my child receive a Soccer Shots jersey?

Youth jerseys are distributed once per rolling 12-month period, based on date of purchase/enrollment, and are sent at the same time you pay your enrollment fee, regardless of the number of seasons you sign your child up for within that year. If you have not been prompted to pay your enrollment fee, you also will not be receiving a jersey for this session. If you need a new jersey, please make sure you add one to your order before checking out.
